Oh he's a Premier level Dfender. Maybe their best (most expensive) player?
He's 6ft5?? He's always on the floor making last-gasp clearances, so I thought his only weak point was being a bit short. He'd be great next to Greaves. Two real fighters in defense.
And he's Muslim guys, so yeah...he'll be a bit homophobic. And he'll be anti-dog too, so don't walk your Labradors too near him.
Hello from Hua Hin! That sounds horrific news. Watching Ippy from Thailand was great. Is this the first time the club hasn't 'thought something through'?
And forget a new kit...many fans just want to buy a flippin' BLUE CAP from the shop, with the name 'Ipswich' on it!
Since losing my favourite cap on a motorbike taxi in Bangkok, I simply can't believe we can't buy a traditional blue hat with our team on it lol. Who on Earth made that decision??
Watched that in Thailand, and all 3 of my dogs are cowering next door after a lot of cheering and fist pumps. We have fire in our belly, and steel in our hearts. It's great to watch. Bolton just aren't as good when they make maximum effort too. I'm not sure any team is now. We can do this.
It's 'business time' boys. And our Tractor engines are revved up and ready to roll... COYFB!!
d77sgw Sky is owned by the Democrat billionaires of Comcast, since 2018. Hence the switch to the disinformation and censorship style of NBC, MSNBC, etc on SkyNews. And the push to further indoctrinate 'Woke' Narcissists. Your money is going to the US 'Deep State', rather than Murdoch nowadays.
P.S. I watch every Ipswich game in Thailand on ifollow. Coverage is pretty good.
"Anyone else have a bad feeling about this game??"
Yes, because after 46 years of supporting Ipswich, I have NEVER seen us win a game on national TV. And I must have watched about 100 games. My family has banned me from watching us on TV because they have enough evidence I'm causing the problem. I've also watched over 50 England cricket matches, and never seen a win (I thought that curse was broken once, but the game was called off for match-fixing). So I'm banned from Lords and the Oval too.
I probably won't watch due to 'the curse', but Bracknell is the hometown of my other Grandma (they one who didn't support Ipswich for 80 years), so it's kind of cool.
I'm also finally able to return home from being stuck abroad for 4 years (Covid, rescuing dogs in Asia, etc), so I have a choice of this game, or Cheltenham, to watch our boys play.
Agree with the suggestion of giving our ticket profits to Bracknell. It would be a great gesture.
He's part of a good gang of people who took over the club, so it's natural for these guys to trigger the toxic narcissistic elements (like ButchersBrokenNose etc).
Sadistic narcissistic trolls will naturally 'project' their own toxicity and mindset onto others. Hence ButchersBrokenNose mentioned 'Toxic', but zero self-awareness. Note the self-absorption too, the abusive behaviour, and the the lack of 'reality' (ie Pandemic international travel behaviour).
Narcs can't self-analyse (due to ego) so they 'project' instead. So I'd ignore the toxic fella, or enjoy his confirmation that these new owners are good guys ('Cluster B' personality disorder types get triggered by someone's good character, because it's something they can't attain...so it's a good sign if toxic peeps get triggered!).
Blueboy1981: ""truth certainly gets the minus button clickers on the ball."
...And so does stupidity, pointless negativity and juvenile defensive ripostes. Your first post was fine, what happened? Did your anti-depressants wear off?
@Robbie 12345. Wolves have to get him fit before letting him go?! What? He's been out-of-contract for months, as every article about him has stated. Even THIS article states his 'Free Agent' status in the second sentence. He can go when he wants.
This will be a great signing. And we'll have a quality Championship-level squad. We will have many players with a decent monetary value. And most of our players seemed to have been brought in for free. So even from a financial point of view, we're essentially increasing our 'stock' value. Any loss from selling players from the previous era (ie selling Taylor at cut-price) will be made up by MM's impressive low-cost signings. McCarthy is doing a lot more than just signing good players, he is increasing our financial value as a club.
JimmyJazz...can't believe it's you falling for it again! You seem to yearn for drama, at the expense of accuracy and intelligence. Do you watch too many soaps?
Marriott's playing style is 'like Michael Owen', is the way intelligent people read it.
But some struggled to understand the basic article again. You got a few 'likes' so you ain't the only gullible tabloid stooge, JimmyJ. I hope you don't lap up the scandal and bias so easily, when reading the BBC etc. Scary thought.
@JimmyJazz Can you explain how you convinced yourself that he was leaving? For me, the issue once again was people's desperate need to be negative; with the media controlling your opinions and whether you click on an article. You still seem to be looking for the scandal in your comment. Are you therefore believing journalists (hired to create negativity, for readership), ahead of a straight-talking bored-of-media-patterns manager? Maybe I missed a crucial piece of info, but this seemed to be yet another example of the gullibility of the modern-day scandal-seeker fan. Usually the big club fans do this, hence they pick their team for the office/schoolyard juvenile one-upmanship...smaller club fans tend to have more class and intelligence. Looking at the poll, a massive 60% either fell for the media spin, or know something the rest of us don't. What did we miss?
"So we've moved on from taking Sunderlands cast offs to wolves now "
Well, no. It's a completely different situation: Wolves have been relegated to League one with players who were once comfortable in the Premiership. These are first-teamers who are available for NO fee. We have their previous manager who signed them, so we have extra pulling power to get them. With Sunderland, we were signing fringe players, if at all. Keane couldn't attract anyone else, because he possesses the same character as a spoilt 8-year-old.
So we are merely 'taking advantage' of a situation. A few teams have benefitted from doing the same to us (Charlton?), so this is the CORRECT way to act in the transfer market.
You may get marked down...this kind of stuff is bleeding obvious to most people. We can't all have a working brain though...eh Baldrick?! [sigh]
Your Down Votes on page 1 are a bit baffling, yes. I'm sure you'll survive it though. It's like a punch from someone's index finger.
But it might have something to do with us buying the winger Doherty (for £50k), only a couple of days ago. And thereforeperhaps a protest against your 'memory issues'.
You may, of course, be a goldfish. If that is the case, a short-term memory is entirely understandable.
But you do have a point: We've almost spent nothing (except pay-offs for contracts).
A bonus is that this will soothe our chairman's frustration over wasted millions (which is important for his future commitment). And he's learnt a lesson.or two. It's a bit like buying some fancy shampoo for £4 a tube, then discovering Poundland. (Not the gardening or food section, they're rubbish! Err...so a friend told me) I digress...
