Interesting. It seems to be for women and girls who want a combination of socialising with having fun playing uncompetitive football, possibly without any prior experience of the game, or any shame in being unskilled. Apart from your link, I could only find an Ipswich Star article (last?) October which says Gals FC was going to start at Northgate School, but I then couldn't find any reference to it existing now. Feliixstowe have indeed been really good hosts, and the atmosphere at Martello Ground is great. However, the tickets have sold out way before the match takes place. On the two occasions when matches have been at Portman Road, there have been lots of young girls attending. They aren't really glory hunters. They are girls who have persuaded their parents to take them to these "special" matches. I don't have the stats, but understand it to have been an incentive fot lots to take up the sport. |

See what you can do Phil. It would be so good for the team, and the town. It is indeed short notice, but it's worth a try. The fans are very well behaved, so crowd control will be easy. |

Can someone pull strings urgently for the match to be moved from Martello Ground to Portman Road? I just went to buy a ticket and it is already sold out. So many more will be disappointed too. There were over 10000 at this year's match at Portman Road. How many more will there be if Portman Road hosts the last match of the season for the league winners? |
