Good grief all this talk of Philogene and Clarke not being good enough is crazy, they're superb Championship players with high upsides if they continue to improve.

They're a decent team that adopted the buy to sell model early doors, they have been hugely successful doing it. I'd give anything to be in their position. If Omari has a few decent seasons there he'll be sold for a fortune. You can criticise his performance last season however if you dig into the underlying numbers, the ones Brentford will have analysed he performed excellently. Look at him in the Euros surrounded by better players and he looked excellent. Good luck to the lad. If we manage to sell 2 players for 70 million quid I'll be effing delighted. It'll largely recoup what we spent last summer and allow for phase 2 of our growth

He's had such little experience it's difficult to know what his value is. His performances in the U21 demonstrate that when he plays with better players he can perform better. We can say what we like but Brentford will still likely be stronger than us next season as well as playing in the premiership. We also know that Brentford may have a fair bit of cash to burn which does put us in a decent negotiating position.

Ultimately our midfield wasn't quite good enough, that's not on Morsy and let's be honest be honest the Phillips gamble failed. We just have to concede we weren't good enough. No shame in getting exposed in the top flight after 20 years.

We have to be honest and say as the season wore on our midfield was getting overrun. The lack of strength in midfield meant Davis got even more exposed. We need younger and more mobile and athletic players in there. Morsy and Luongo plus occasionally Cajuste were OK but not robust enough for the premiership. This not to denigrate what the former 2 bought to the club and I'm obviously sad that Morsy has left and will remember him very fondly.

If we could get Hackney and Ruiz I feel that sorts our midfield. After Ferguson's recent troubles I'm possibly less convinced but I'm not saying he'd be awful.

Don't know much about him but we seem to now be fishing in a bigger pond. It would be good to get our midfield right early doors too.
