“Mostly second best between the boxes”. What? Comedy gold. We took 20 minutes to grow into the game, but other than that Sheff U offered nothing. Just because they had a bit of the ball doesn’t make us “second best between the boxes”. Time will tell if the result was down to us being good or Sheff U being hideous, but that comment highlights your agenda perfectly. |

Whilst it’s true that Morsy and Chappers have been “let go” I think the context here is important. Morsy was made an offer that we didn’t feel we could match (I’m on the fence on this) and so we tried to do the right thing by the player. I personally would have like him to see his contract out, but in this day and age it’s just not realistic. Chappers is at the stage of his career where he wants to play week in week out, had an offer to “go home”, so again, the club have tried to do the right thing by the player. Rather than ragging the club for allowing them to leave, maybe we should agree that given the service they’ve given, that this was the right step for both individuals. For the record, I’d much rather they were both here, but for those citing they should still be here for what they bring off the pitch as much as on it, maybe consider what the players motivations are at this time of their lives rather than putting this at the club’s door. Let’s hope this works out for all parties. If letting Chappers go proves to be the wrong decision then we’re likely in for a painful few months. |

Why can’t people just pay tribute to a great footballer and even better human being without moaning. Gutted he’s gone, but glad he got the only move he’d really have wanted. Good luck Chappers. |

People asking why we’re thinking about this. It’s not complicated, we’ve more players than squad places, so the squad needs to be trimmed. |

The moaners morning that we are short of numbers and then moaning that they don’t like the signing. Couldn’t write it. Damned if we do, damned it we don’t. Last time I looked the definition of support didn’t stretch to “complain about everything.” If you can’t support the team then feck off elsewhere |

I’ll bite for you boysof1981. You’ve got the benefit of hindsight. What would you have done differently if you were Mark Ashton? |

Exactly that Bonkers. If someone offers you more money for a car than it’s worth, you don’t think “oh, I’ll just take it for one final spin around a supermarket car park in Bromley”. |

Makes me laugh people getting upset by this. If his agent hadn’t ballsed things up he’d have gone for £35 million to Brentford without any of this fuss. We’ve ended up getting an extra £2.5 million as a result - so I say we should thank Omari and his agent rather than ejecting toys from pram. |

Mass played 197 minutes. But yeah, count that in your numbers Prebbs. We signed a replacement for Muric in January. We signed Greaves to replace Burgess last summer. Enciso and Phillips weren’t our players. Broadhead played 696 minutes. Axel is a loss but was injured for half the season. Morsy and Delap are irreplaceable. But we have at least signed Akpom and Azor and we tried very hard to sign Hackney. Omari’s departure is not of our making. That’s considerably more context than your “they were in the matchday squad” nonsense Prebbs. |

Prebbs - did losing to Maidstone prove we weren’t capable of challenging for promotion in January 2024? No, so why would a one off cup game define the likelihood of success this year? Oh I know, it doesn’t. |
