By Christmas I assumed I would be wrong and that the possibility of 30+ points was well achievable.
So sad that we had such a shocking second half of the season but let’s just hope we learn from this experience because every single season, survival for newly promoted clubs is going to get tougher and tougher / more pointless.
Delap definitely should not be looking at Man Utd or Spurs after what we saw last night. Two shockingly bad sides that produce zero service for their forwards. He’d be better off staying with Town if he enjoys scoring goals. He’ll be the next Kalvin Phillips or Jack Grealish if he goes to Man Utd. Ruined.
I know we want to keep him but if he has to go who would you choose for him ?
Personally I would say Newcastle or Chelsea. He needs service and he’d get it at both of those clubs. Liverpool is another but not so sure he’d get as much playing time there.
The atmosphere and scenes from the Palace supporters today is very reminiscent of 1978. The FA Cup rarely has this sort of atmosphere nowadays but when Palace scored it reminded me so much of ‘78 the way it was celebrated.
Interesting that first half they played everything down their left/our right and we shut them out with great displays by Tuanzabe and Johnson. Then second half, from the off they pursued our left side and got their reward immediately making Leif looking lost as he has done all season. As soon as he was replaced by Townsend we looked so much more solid and balanced in defence. He has to be our first choice left back going forward.
Anyhow, chuffed to bits with that display and the lads should be too. I thought Johnson and Palmer were both superb today.
No complaints from me. Very frustrating late goal but that’s what being a Town fan is like.
Certainly seemed to be maximum effort from most. Another big mistake from Davis almost gifted them a goal but thankfully Palmer was on hand. I really don’t know why we continue with Davis when it is clear Townsend is by far a better LB and Davis is way out of his depth at this level as a defender or a wing back.
I think the writing is still on the wall. Cannot see anything but relegation sadly but like many I have accepted this and I’m looking forward to the Championship again.
Possibly our most committed team performance of the season.
I’d like to see a few more of those players given more of a chance for the rest of this season. Defensively we looked much, much better. Townsend HAS to replace Davis from herein. He’s had several starts and every times looks so much better than Davis.
Really encouraging showing tonight and fantastic penalties too.
