Looking at that table it's ridiculous just how badly Derby bottled it. A 5 point gap between them in 1st and us in 3rd. |
 | News Comment | Murphy Interesting Hull at 11:59:46
Murphy is in the form of his career and I'm not surprised that Hull are looking at him. He has been terrific so far this season, but before that he was just an average championship striker. I can't see Steve Bruce paying an "astronomical" fee for a 31 year old striker who has only really had one exceptional half season in his career. And I also don't think Murph would leave. He's been in the Premiership before and didn't succeed. He knows he's the main man at Ipswich and is loved by the fans/players/management. Unless they offer him a bucketload of cash and Hull offer Marcus Evans £10m+ then I can't see it. |

I think we'll still play a pretty strong side but just rest a few. I expect Berra, Smith, Chambers, Murphy and Didzy to all start. Gerken will get a game, Mings will come back in, and we'll probably see Hyam, Bru and one other in midfield. I reckon Ambrose and Sammon will also feature at some point. |

Darren Bent was a quality player for us. He was also immense at Charlton and then got in to the England team and had ok spells at Spurs and Sunderland. But he's done nothing for 2 seasons now and he's probably on about £60k a week. I can't see us being able to afford him and when you've got Murphy and Didzy I don't think we need him. He's not MM's type of player either. He doesn't like strikers that just hang around up front waiting for things to happen. He wants them to get stuck in and that's not how Bent plays. I'd rather Mick tries to find a replacement for Johnny Williams than bring in a centre forward. |
 | News Comment | Bournemouth Allocation Sold Out at 13:23:13
Bournemouth is actually pretty crap for boozers as the ground is a couple of miles outside the city centre. Most pubs nearby are home fans only. About 20 min walk from the ground is a Wetherspoons which had a fair amount of Town fans in last year. |
 | News Comment | Blues Leading Chase for Ebanks-Blake at 00:19:43
I'd certainly have him in the squad but I don't think he's going to walk straight in to the team and be the goalscorer we need. He's been out injured for ages and if Kenny Jackett doesn't think he's good enough for league 1 then how's he going to fair in the championship? We've already got Didzy, Murphy, Nouble, Taylor... he will just push Marriott further down the pecking order. Still he's worth a punt I guess and in MM we trust! Just hope we don't sign him up on big wages because there are other areas of the squad I'd rather see us strengthen in. |
