 | News Comment | Leadbitter Turns Down Town Offer at 16:49:13
A real shame for a number of reasons. 1. He was a good player, and the best of our central midfielders. 2. Even if he flattered to deceive at times he has undoubted ability and will, knowing us, go on to do very well at Boro. 3. We cannot keep letting players leave for free on whom we have spent a lot of money - transfer fee and wages. 4. It's more change, meaning more turnover of playing staff and probably a shaky start to next season. 5. More proof of players not really wanting to play for us. |

Peters is one of our best players? What are you on about? He's one of the least technically gifted players we have. Yes he gives it everything, and that can't always be said for everyone else, which means he's popular - but don't start claiming he's one of our best players. He doesn't have a proper position, he's been here for years and has never nailed a place down and Bournemouth had no interest in keeping him on. He's not good enough at this level. |

Just got back from the game. Very well played, tough when you've only got 10 men but we did enough. I would say it was definitely a red yes, he seemed to go in studs up and potentially two footed, as soon as he tackled him I thought he'd be off. ALB had a very good game, ditto for Edwards, McAuley and Delaney. We rode our luck a bit but a lovely finish from Carson separated the teams. Wickham had to do so much work up top on his own after Martin was dismissed, he must be knackered! Finally, hope Leadbitter's OK. It didn't look good. A deserved three points, overall. |
