TWTD Questionnaire 2020/21

Q43 What are your early impressions of new owners Gamechanger 20 Ltd?

Town fans were desperate for new ownership, that was clear from the reaction to the fluctuating developments on the takeover in the month or so after the news that negotiations were ongoing emerged.

And since then supporters have taken to the club's new owners with seemingly little opposition.

On early evidence, The Blues appear to have fallen on their feet when compared to new ownerships at other clubs. Town aren't backed by owners with a connection to a regime with a dubious human rights record, Gamechanger 20 actually have the money they say they have and they have shown respect for and knowledge of the club's history and culture, as well as a willingness to engage with supporters.

After 13 years of near silence from Marcus Evans the latter has been very much welcomed, perhaps to the extent that the Three Lions have been a little overwhelmed.

The building blocks for the future are being put in place, CEO Mark Ashton has been brought in from Bristol City, an appointment which won't have been cheap by any stretch.

The oft-criticised sports science side of the club has seen new recruits, manager Paul Cook has brought in his staff, is continuing to overhaul his squad and new faces will be seen elsewhere around the club when the new season starts in August.

So welcome Gamechangers, here's to a glorious rebirth of Town in the years to come.
