An overwhelming victory for centre-half Elkan Baggott, who clearly made a big impression in his two senior games towards the end of the season.

But while the likes of Baggott and Cameron Humphreys made their first strides into first team football, no young player could really say it was their breakthrough season, none you'd say are established in the side.

Last year's winner in this category, Armando Dobra, spent a disappointing season on loan at Colchester and looks likely to move on this summer. Similarly, Idris El Mizouni was on the fringes and also seems likely to depart along with the released Bailey Clements.

Rekeem Harper also had an underwhelming campaign having joined with much fanfare from West Brom last summer.

Centre-half Corrie Ndaba may be one to watch out for next season following a very successful loan at Salford during 2021/22.

Albie Armin and Zanda Siziba, ninth and 10th this year, will hope to be among those competing for top spot in a year's time.
