Q5 Favourite ever Town player?

The legend that was The Beat usurps his great friend and teammate John Wark as the TWTD readership's favourite player. Wark has topped this table for most of the last 18 years, but with little between them over that period. Indeed, only 11 votes separate the pair this year.

The top five is the same as last year but with Paul Mariner nipping ahead of Matt Holland by a single vote. And in the Battle of the Dutchmen Arnold Muhren moves in front of Frans Thijssen by two votes, Muhren having climbed above Thijssen last year.

Skipper Sam Morsy, who was ninth last year, slips out of the top 10 down to joint-12th with Allan Hunter, with Mauricio Taricco, Martijn Reuser and Ray Crawford all ahead of him in this year's vote.

Centre forward Ossie Higgins's two games without scoring in the 1952/53 season evidently made a strong impression on one TWTD reader, while Tony Dinning and Zeki Fryers will presumably be pleased with their single votes.
