Southampton were excellent down here, it has to be said, and yet we tend to forget we went fairly close to getting back on terms. The Saints seemed destined to go up from there, while Reading grew in stature as the season wore on. To be honest, they weren't that impressive in either game against Town. Across the division, few other teams really stood out in what was another mediocre Championship.
