The top seven is the same as last year but with Paul Mariner and Marcus Stewart swapping places. John Wark claimed top spot from Kevin Beattie around a decade ago now with Matt Holland moving into second in more recent seasons.

Mid-nineties loanee Michael Clegg will presumably be surprised as well as flattered that he is one respondent's favourite ever Town player, as will Gianni Zuiverloon, who retains his single vote from last year's poll.

It's also good to see that the likes of Gilbert Alsop, who spent 14 months with the Blues between 1937 and 1938, scoring 28 goals in 36 games, remain some fans' favourites.
