| dtravisphd added 17:53 - Mar 7 It sounds odd to describe this as a really good Town performance, given that it ended in a draw. For the first few minutes of the game, Town dominated, but then Leicester came into the game and were very much on the front foot. They certainly didn't look like a team at the wrong end of the division. After 20 minutes, I think it’s fair to say that Leicester had been the better team. Town were sloppy in possession, often losing the ball to Leicester. Town began to grow back into the game but then Leicester scored from a free kick, given after a dubious foul. “Dubious” — there were a number of those kind of refereeing decisions in this game. The second half was played almost entirely in the Leicester half. Town were superb. It was wave after wave of attack. Leicester were strong in defence, repelling everything that Town threw at them with defenders in the box and with last ditch defending on the line. Town had two (fairly weak) penalty shouts waved away. Still Ipswich pressed. Finally Egeli broke through and got the equaliser that Ipswich more than deserved. Still Ipswich pressed, driven on by a crowd who expected a win. But Leicester held firm. Then, in added time, Kipré was fouled in the box. It looked a stonewall penalty. But the referee waved it away, and with that, he waved away the possibility of three deserved points. (Even someone on the Ipswich bench got a yellow card for complaining). Most of the Town players were excellent. Kipré had one of his poorer games, with too many loose passes out of defence. I thought Mehmeti and Núñez were the best players, with Mehmeti shading MOTM. A draw was a disappointing result and Town deserved more — but 7 points from 9 is a good haul. Cakeman added 19:01 - Mar 7 We were very average first half, waited for things to happen instead of making them happen. Harry Winks conducted the Leicester midfield orchestra very well. Thankfully similar to the Hull game we were much better in the second half. I’m not going to dwell on the incompetent officials as we should have won the game without their help. We look great when piling forward at pace but why is there no one on the end of a lot of brilliant crosses? 1-1 a fair result. Robert_Garrett added 19:55 - Mar 7 Some you win some you dont. The luck did not go our way today. like a prize fighter leicester were desperate to hang on but the luck of the dice didnt go our way. Some strange decisions from the ref who was seriously under pressure not to show us any favours or benefits of his whistle. Despite not getting the result we deserved it was a pulsating second hald full of drama. MoM Nunez again timleatham added 11:48 - Mar 8 So we huffed and puffed in the first half and were way off our best with only one attempt on goal. Leicester were not much better with lots of misplaced passes and hoof ball. Poor decision by ref to award Leicester the free kick and then we defended the ball into the box poorly and they scored. However second half we were excellent and it is a travesty that we did not get at least two penalties. The one is extra time was a stonewaller. That ref was the worst I have seen in 40 years of watching football. Never seen or heard the level of dissatisfaction with a ref during and at the end of a game. We go again on Tuesday and I still remain confident we can get an automatic spot. Leigh Davis was my MOM followed by Dara. Thought the midfield two were disappointing and did not get hold of the ball enough to feed the forwards. Well done Sindre with another well taken goal. Deserves a start on Tuesday. timleatham added 21:54 - Mar 9 So we huffed and puffed in the first half and were way off our best with only one attempt on goal.
