Thanks to some free tickets I very much enjoyed watching the Norwich of the North in action against The Cobblers. Just appointed a new up and coming manager, play pressing football on the deck, I cannot recall one hoof all game. Billy Sharpe is a quality act. The defenders play everything out from the back properly. Gate of 25.000 and a really positive atmosphere about the place. Run by owners who seem to have a plan. The stadium despite being 50 years old looks immaculate, every railing newly painted in bright red, you can easily get served in the ground. Everyone is extremely friendly. They have attracted some decent overseas investment as well. I have to say I came away feeling quite jealous to be frank! I'm confident we will be getting a beating from them next season. |  |

Yeah they sung that. Atmosphere wasn't amazing to be honest until the goal in the 89th minute when it went absolutely mental. Northampton played two banks of 5 basically but Sheff UTD kept pressing and didn't get brought down to their level. I had a good night out for NYE as well. Reminded me why I love football | |

There are no excuses for the state of our ground in my opinion. Sheffield seem to be maximising all income streams with various sponsors, corporate stuff, decent hotel which was absolutely packed. It wouldn't be the same of the stadium looked crap. It's all about prose isn't it?? | |

I remember Sheff Utd coming to Portman Road in the early/mid 1970,s when they were rock bottom of the old Division One and bought a massive crowd to Portman Road. Singing all through the game despite relegation guaranteed. The song they sang to their player "Tony Currie".....His eyes they shone like diamonds.....They called him the king of the land....etc.......The first season that song was sung and within weeks every club had their fans singing it.
