All 3 goals gifted by shocking wigan defending. Their manager must have been fuming.

Did we offer much threat last night or literally just those on the highlights. Because i cant see any other team gifting us goals like that.

Yes they were gifts but we also played a part on forcing those mistakes.

Stick to being a chairman mate & collecting £5 off one man & his dog each week.

We had quite a lot of opportunities to score, judging by the radio commentary (and the stats - 14 shots, of which 10 on target). They had several, too. Both 'keepers made some good saves. But we were pretty sold at the back, while they made errors, three of them fatal.

I can see Rotherham being just as poor and error prone.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

So you're not going to credit Kenlock and Didz for the build up play in goals 1 and 3?

Our failure over the past season or so has been putting poorer sides to the sword. We did that last night. IMHO, you should celebrate that, rather than searching for reasons not to enjoy a victory.

Yes they made mistakes, but we made them make them by closing them down so quickly, and tackling them so we gained possession.
Not to mention all 3 goals were well worked and finished well too.
Don't forget Wigan only lost 2-1 away at Newcastle on Saturday.

Enjoy the fact we have won a game with a comfortable 3-0 scoreline, this rarely happens! The fact this result might have cemented our Championship status gives us two reasons to celebrate.

You beat me to it. I was going to mention Newcastle.

The OP obiously wasn't at the game. Wigan's keeper made some incredible saves which aren't shown on the small clip you have seen. Also Bart made more saves than shown.

McGoldrick was on fire last night and my MOTM if you discount Bart. Kenlock played well athough it is unfair to pick out one or two as they all did their bit.

Has Mick got the team selection right at long last? We didn't miss Knudsen or Skuse so maybe they are the weak links.

Kenlock is a revelation for me.

Once of the big changes from 14-15 to the past two seasons has been the lack of an attacking threat from right back, once we sold Mings (and before him Cresswell). Knudsen is a solid, old-fashioned full back, v reliable, but without the attacking that helps us open up opposition defences.

Three or four times last night, Kenlock attacked their defence, including when he made our first goal. He's a top young player who we will do well to keep hold of beyond the next couple of seasons.

Where am i not celebrating??? Im asking a valid question. Not sure why people taking it so offensively did we manage to create more than the highlights show. Thats it.

So, other than the three goals we scored and the three very good chances did we create anything?

So what would you rather?

If the opposition make a mistake, we should return the ball to them as it would be poor form to profit from their errors?

Notwithstanding they fact it was our harrying them that caused the mistakes in the first place?

Huws, Sears, Smith and Kenlock all forced very good saves from their goalkeeper and Bart also made a number of very stops of his own.

An entertaining game and a 3-0 win. Given where we are at the moment, that is something to be pleased with.

All before Hoppy's and told you we had 3 or 4 very good other chances.

clearly i wasn't there, hence

"Did we offer much threat last night or literally just those on the highlights"

Im actually baffled so many have taking some form of offence to this post and started getting all worked up over it. fecken ell.

The reason i asked was, was there enough from the lads that could have shown us we may have the bottle for the run in, or were we just ever so lucky with the 3 goals.

Fair enough question I would presume. but of course, one can't ask such a question on this forum without it being made into something different and then my personal life being bought into it.
