It is disgusting.

There is no way anyone should be the subject of personal abuse like that.

That could be read in two ways.

He isn't worried about the consequences of losing Bialkowski.

or

He isn't worried because he thinks Bialkowski will not be leaving.

Going back to the original IG post, you do wonder why the official ITFC account would post such a statement?

It's obviously going to invite the inevitable moronic responses.

It's almost as though the club is engineering serious bad vibes as part of a "not our fault" exit strategy...

Maybe they are assuming that our fans will act like reasonably well-educated grown-ups, read beyond the headline and understand the context of what Mick is saying.

I've just done something that I would never normally do.

I've actually emailed the club and asked them to forward it to Mick Mac, it's an apology for the personal abuse he has been getting.

Hope it gets to its target. Only a small token gesture but the personal abuse is now ridiculous.

Yes, I understand they want to cash in on him as our only player asset of any real value.

Thankfully, whilst there is personal abuse towards Mick on this site, it is fairly infrequent.

On Twitter etc. there's some really needless stuff which can get quite vile. When you point it out to these morons you get the usual "well they earn xyz so should take it" or the enjoyably dimwitted "don't you care about the club then?".

Whatever anyone's views on the coaching and playing staff (add Milne and Evans to that) there's no need for some of the language used against them. People lose perspective and take anything and everything Mick says as a personal insult against them, which they then use as justification for their own abuse.

I despair at sections of our fanbase.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I went to see the David Baddiel show last night (it's very good) and he made the point that posting abuse of this kind is the way social media warriors turn up the volume on their opinions, so they get more attention and thus make the culprit feel bigger and more important. Which is, of course, totally correct. It also (in turn) reflects their own feeling of low self-worth and impotence.

What we can read into this is that the louder the voice, the more aggressive the abuse, the smaller, more insignificant and impotent the perpetrator.

It's worth considering that when reviewing some of the posts on here, to be honest.

When I saw Douglas at the train station I told him that the stick he has received is disgusting and apologised.

He then booed me as I was walked away.
