If that were right, surely the owner would have come out and said something along those lines, because that might have encouraged some of the non renewing fans to give it another go next season. The silence says it all for me. More of the same or maybe worse with the stay away fans being blamed for the lack of new players. |  |

Indeed. But as a general rule you need to pay a bit more for quality. Really good players, available on a free are few and far between. You don't get many good players available for nothing. There aren't many really good free transfers, folks. | |

I think we've done reasonably well with some of our free transfers - McGoldrick, Berra, Chambers, wasn't Murphy too?
Agreed, with more of a war chest to dip into, it does give you more ability to make a move for players that wouldn't necessarily be otherwise available, so hopefully, that will be the case and some decent additions made with both approaches.

Warnock was on TalkSport this morning, saying they (Cardiff) won't need to spend much next season - around £5-6m. That should be the minimum ME should be looking to give to MM to spend, IMO - which will probably only happen if a player or two is sold for that amount. |  |

Maybe. But I think it was also about waiting to see what the effect of FFP would be once the legal challenges played out and how the updated rules would work.
In theory, we now have three seasons' of over-spending to throw at next season. Not sure we've quite got the platform for that yet but probably a significant overspend is needed to get that in the first place. |  |

That's a fair comment, but we have season ticket holders leaving in their droves, his priority should be to try and persuade people to renew. I don't think that this has been such an issue in the past. | |
