Watson speaks to Steijn on 17:16 - May 2 with 4647 views | Swansea_Blue | As someone mentioned before, it's a bit discourteous to be talking about Mick's job. Only a minor point though, as I'm sure even Mick would be the first to agree that rumours come with the job and it's probably like water off a duck's back to him.

This is all probably unnecessary, up until these rumours would Evans really have been looking into Holland given his previous track record?

There is a certain element of this story running of its own accord. Someone from here tweeted him about ITFC interest so he could be answering about that enquiry rather than anything meaningful. Oh well, it's going to get mighty dull on here all Summer so a bit of interest will be a distraction.

Tom didn't know anything about it until we told him, so nothing to do with him. Indeed, he was quite surprised about the link (it hadn't hit Twitter by that point). Not a lot seems to have changed since Tom spoke to his agent a month ago really. As he and Steijn have now said on a number of occasions in different ways, they're aware of the link, have heard nothing from Town and he'll probably continue with VVV next season but would be open to other jobs if they came up. Continuing to answer questions on the link and keeping it in the spotlight does his standing and his negotiations with VVV regarding his new contract no harm, of course.

Yes because every other method has failed. Why not Holland?

I don't see anything wrong with that, I for one hope it is true. But based on the past, he's only had one method, which is too appoint managers who have already gained promotion from the league

Pretty shamelessly too. It's moved nowhere at all to warrant that "story".

He has but each appointment has had a very different policy or had different parameters to work within so the strategy has varied each time. I think he's mixed it up quite well in his time in all fairness. Big transfer budgets under Keane, big wages on ex PL players with Jewell and a reverse approach with MM by paying a lucrative managerial salary but capping the wage and transfer structure. Each approach has its merits but none of them have come off. I think if Steijn has a pedigree for working with youth, an approach not yet ventured under ME, this story could have some validity.

Twitter was slow to pick up on it, funnily enough. Whispers had been circulating and we'd been asking about about it for a couple of weeks before it got picked up more widely.
