I can't do links but
News coming from America of a double murder on a train. Apparently two people have been murdered on a train, for defending a muslim. The muslim was ordered off the train and the two samaritans had their throats cut.
Tweet from Tommy Robinson "The religion of peace again" He's not just a nasty racist, he's stupid too.

I have to disagree

If Theresa May was born in Romford and was black, she would not be the prime minster right now. But because she's a privately schooled white girl from a posh place, she's granted the OPPORTUNITY to get into politics and then into parliament before eventually becoming PM.

The truth is, white middle class kids have far greater opportunities than black kids from urban council estates. I can't believe that is even debatable.

That first sentence is utter nonsense. I'm amazed people still buy that bullish!t in the 21st century. There's plenty of good quality research into inequality and the lack of social mobility in the UK.

I genuinely believe that inequality is one of the biggest problems in society. I read The Spirit Level a long while ago and it had a big impact on my thinking (and work).

Social mobility is, for me, a different issue. My parents chose to continue living in a council house when Thatcher's government made it 'embarrassing' to be lower working class and they didn't take up their 'right to buy'. I'm now really proud that they didn't feel that they had to move up the ladder, and that I've had to make my own way in life with no thought of an inheritance.

Social mobility, to me, means wanting or needing more. My parents are now over 80 years old and not wealthy but they adore each other and are content. Sometimes success should be measured by happiness, rather than monetary gain.

I hope some of that makes sense!

Privately educated posh girl?

She's a vicars daughter who went to a state school. Mr Corbyn, however, was privately educated at an independent prep school.

She was just any politician.

Use any name you like.

She's clearly posh Glassers. Listen to the way she talks. She wouldn't understand a word someone in Romford says.

The closer, more accurate assumption is that Rommers doesn't feel that TM can speak for the good people of Romford.

There's no correlation between the two, I'd imagine, in Rommer's view.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

Historical bias, but to insist that there is currently state bias is disingenuous.

I'm not talking on behalf of me asuch but the people on the rough estates of Romford.. she doesn't have a clue what it's like for those people. I only know as I have seen it.

Not just her. All politicians. They talk about how recessions are 'hitting us all hard' as George Osborne would often say and if scram at the tv.

She wouldn't be taken seriously if she was from an estate in Romford not talking with a posh political accent.

That's not a top argument Rommy.

Some people tell me I sound 'posh' but I'm a council house kid who works for peanuts because I want to make a small difference through what I do.

I'm no fan of Theresa May but judging her on the way she talks is not brilliant.

Genuinely she was just the first name I thought of as she's PM

The point is that politicians don't come from places like hackney or Romford on estates

Again, what a lot of you guys are missing in your rush to get one over on Rommy is what he's saying: he's not feeling represented by our current Prime Minister. It is probably true that it would be extended to other politicians.

Isn't that the more salient point to take away from this?

All the campaign brochures I've received from the candidates all tell me that they are local people and understand local issues.

Joey & Danny probably wouldn't want posh blokes on horse back ripping foxes apart with hounds on Romford High Street, TM does.

Joey & Danny would support free car parking spaces for Hospital visitors, TM doesn't.
