I think people who have faith are getting a rough time at the moment personally. Loads of stuff going round, for example, about the storms in the US atm and people asking for prayers etc. and getting called dumb. It just seems unnecessary.

Although I wouldn't abuse them I would think it was incredibly stupid to ask for prayers when their god could have prevented it in the first place. It's like when someone has a heart attack or something, get worked on by a medical team for hours and then thank god for keeping them alive. | |

Maybe i'm being harsh but it's completely illogical and as you say, a way for them to feel better not something that actually helps. The disconnect which allows them to believe god could intervene but didn't bother doing so before it happened is just something I find unbelievable. | |

Does anyone know the stats on how many people still support the death penalty? I know that for years after it was abolished it still enjoyed majority support. |  |
