Playoff Final at Wembley today on 16:43 - May 12 with 5237 views | HarryfromBath | I have been keeping an eye on this one with Tranmere's forum in the background. After the red card, Tranmere took the lead after six minutes via a Paul Cook header. Tranmere made a tactical substitution to readjust after the red card, but they have since then been forced to make two more substitutions due to injuries. The 10 men then held on until the eighth minute of first half stoppage time when Boreham Wood equalised. At 70 minutes it is still 1-1, but Tranmere fans fear the worst. To quote one of their fans a few minutes ago: "Today will never be beaten as the most depressing day for this club, if we don't pull off a shock in the next 30 minutes."

Remarkable result for the team and the gaffer if they pull it off, I would imagine the Tranmere manager will earn quite a lot of attention if they win

Norwood has made it 2-1 Tranmere with 7 to go.

That stacks up. Ginelly was taken off after 34 minutes having been hit on the head with a bottle, both incidents having been separately reported by the BBC. This will go down in their annals as a famous victory. To sum it up from their own words.. "Heroic!", "My nerves are shattered, but those lads were heroes today", "Grown man here, tears in my eyes! Deserved. So, so deserved - get in!", "I have just stopped crying, I forgot what is was to celebrate something", "Warriors!"

"Bye Liam!" Judging from Tranmere fans' comments, if I were him, I would probably think twice about getting on that open-topped bus if they have one. They accused him of bottling challenges all season before that lunge.

Playoff Final at Wembley today on 17:44 - May 12 with 4860 views | christiand | Why have that play off final at Wembley? Why not a smaller stadium, capacity of 20K+. Great atmosphere, in front of a capacity crowd that’s got to be more memorable than the sea of empty red seats today. Surely, the players would prefer that instead of a sparsely populated Wembley that appears a ghost town?

Chance to play at Wembley or the Britannia Stadium? Hmmm. A tough one!

To be fair New Wembley has lost a lot of its shine, the final I went to a few years ago didnt feel like it was being played on hallowed turf, with the FA entertaining selling it I find it hard to give the place the respect it should have if the football organisation isn't willing to.

only 16,000 there so crazy to have at Wembley. Even if both teams well supported (Borehamwood have the poorest support in the National Leage avg less than 1000 at home), a 30,000 premier league or championship ground would so the trick.

On several occasions the final has attracted crowds of over 40,000.

What player dreams of playing at a packed 30,000 stadium? You dream of winning titles, playing for your country and playing at Wembley. I doubt the players cared it wasn’t 90,000. It was the most famous stadium in the world in front of the biggest crowd they’d ever played in front of in most cases.

If the FA made a small profit today they will be delighted.

Too many other stadiums feel like Wembley. The Emirates, The Etihad ... you get that same feeling inside them. It doesn’t feel like ‘the pinnacle’ like it did in 1978 and 2000.

Even though there was 75,000 empty seats! How exciting. A packed ground, a decent playing surface, top class facilities and an atmosphere to get the blood flowing....still would prefer to play at a full stadium than at Wembley today.
