Has anybody on here ever been one of the volunteers who has cleared snow from the PR pitch in years gone by?

And what about those who spent half time replacing divots on the pitch. Jesus being the stand out performer in that.

They arent owned by one of the richest men in the country and have a strong tradition of community ownership/involvement. Please can we stop suggesting the fans need to step in and tidy up PR, it's utterly embarrassing.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I remember him, I now know his mate who used to do it with him.

No, but when I was at Staffs Uni in the mid-90s, I lived two streets from Stoke’s old Victoria Ground and it pelted it down with snow the week before we were away to them.
Day before the game they asked for volunteers to go and help clear the pitch, but when I got there, they’d already got enough people and I wasn’t needed.

We lost 1-3.

Not snow but one time in the mid 90s the club were asking for volunteers to help roll up the protective sheets that had been laid on the pitch to keep it dry. Think it was Wolves we were playing, maybe FA Cup?

Wasn’t a lot of work truthfully, got a free ticket and for some reason Anglia TV were there and a two second clip of us clearing the pitch made it to the lunchtime news.
