Always used to use non-clumping, but earlier this year we got two kittens and someone gave us some clumping cat litter. We found it much easier to keep the tray clean by just removing the clumped litter, leaving the clean stuff in the tray. You can also get slightly scented litter (lavender) from Pets At Home which is very good.
Wood pellets 100% of the time. It just doesn't have that horrible smell general litter does, and it lasts longer. Plus it's better for the environment and really that not much more expensive.

My neighbour always goes for the wooden stuff, as hr claims it smells less than the fullers earth-type litter.
Blimey - that is serious stuff... he runs that kind of decision past the hr department first? I was hoping it was something I'd be able to just make a decision about myself, with some views of other cat owners/slaves.

Pets at Home wood pellets
Smell better, and you can flush the "nuggets" without fear of bunging up the system
also, clumping tracks into your floors worse, stains and also dries out your cat's pads(beans)

Used all sorts over the years, settled on Thomas cLumping some years ago. Only place we seem to get it is The Range but it’s the best of the clay based. Also good when grounded for adding to fine sand and making cheapskate green sand for casting but that’s another matter.

Can you get wood pellets at the moment? I'm in the West Mids, almost impossible in Pets at Home etc apparently due to Ukraine where a lot come from???? Pricey on line as well.

I've got 5 cats and not been without
also in West Mids - we've got 3 stores in Coventry and my local is the smallest
Luckily I went in the other day and they had a delivery
I'd suggest phoning the stores local to you as the website basically said they can't order/deliver but they just "turn up"

We’ve tried them all. Clumping gets the decision by a distance.
A basic one (e.g. Asda’s) mixed with the Pets at Home one (quite expensive) gives them a good combo to do the necessary. Cuthy and Ches have not put in an objection and neither have the staff (Mrs C and me).

They've probably doubled in price since the war started - but well worth it for all the benefits i think.
