If I were them I would be sh***ing myself us making them look like a bunch of clowns, and thus restoring the natural order. [Post edited 30 Apr 2023 19:48]

I mean, they know we got promoted but I doubt they have a clue about how good we’ve been. Which is great and may come as a little surprise to them.

They’re probably sat there thinking we’ve scraped out of L1. We’ve got every chance of finishing above them next season. Wagner’s been a complete flop.

In all fairness, they ARE going to get battered by us.

I wonder how our inbred canary friends up the road think of our success this sea on 20:10 - Apr 30 with 3653 views | GeoffSentence | They graciously concede that we have had a very good season, particularly the second half of it, that our football has been superb, and that the support and atmosphere has been excellent. They are looking forward to two hard fought derby games, played in an excellent spirit and hope the best team wins, which they openly say is them, but privately concede could be us. Whatever the outcome of those two games, they wish us well for the rest of the season. Probably.

So it’s very kind of them to have achieved f* all and hang around mid-table Championship to wait for us to catch up. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
I wonder how our inbred canary friends up the road think of our success this sea on 21:29 - Apr 30 with 3350 views | Oldsmoker | In the 2009/10 season they won the third tier title. in the 2010/11 season they were second and got promoted to the Premier League. This is what they will say makes their backstory better than ours (unless we win this league and then win the Championship next season). [Post edited 30 Apr 2023 21:30]

I wonder how our inbred canary friends up the road think of our success this sea on 21:44 - Apr 30 with 3296 views | patrickswell | I watched the Talk Norwich City podcast last week, because you have to enjoy it when your rivals are suffering. When they got to the Q&A section, the Reeves were asked the following question, Would the current Norwich side beat the current Ipswich side? As you might expect, Chris Reeve refused to be drawn on it, but admitted that his refusal to be drawn should be taken as a sign about where his feelings were on the matter. Jack Reeve was far less equivocal, “If the two sides played each other, right now, [Ipswich] would beat us. And it’s not even a question for me at the moment. And I tell you why they would beat us…mentality. Can you imagine this [current Norwich] team in a derby? They would crumble…utterly crumble.” The level of toxicity around Norwich at the moment is growing. Mark Ashton will do what he does, I’m sure, but I hope he’s looking at the mistakes that Stuart Webber has made both in terms of recruitment and general operations and makes a mental note of what to avoid. The latest Pink 'Un podcast (I know - should be the Green 'Un, but we had that locally) reckons we've got the better ownership structure, better finances, better team and better credentials for top 6 next season. And that's from Gabriel Sutton, an EFL pundit unaffiliated to either club.

I wonder how our inbred canary friends up the road think of our success this sea on 23:15 - Apr 30 with 2912 views | ArnieM | I said at the very start of this season, on this forum, that narwich would finish mid table. That was trashed on here. I also stated that I felt we would beat them if we ever played them with our current squad, that was also trashed. I stand by my original post. They really are over hyped, ( 100% narwich media hype and certainly not from with the sport nationally), and given the amount of Sky money they’ve received over their various yo-yo promotion/ relegations over the last decade, they have built nothing and won nothing and can’t even establish themselves in the PL.

I don’t understand how Norwich are ‘his team’. Ashton only played 44 games for them. I’ve spent longer in the city doing my Christmas shopping.

Yep - their best (longest?) spell of superiority over us and they’ve achieved a few promotions and some years in the top division. Didn’t even come close to winning a cup, or qualifying for Europe. Their biggest achievement is having us not beat them for 15 years or whatever it is, and of course beating us in a play off semi final. At the end of all that, they don’t have a wealthy owner, the fans aren’t on side, they’ve got a bang average manager and seemingly nothing of particular note in the squad. Bring on the next decade.
I wonder how our inbred canary friends up the road think of our success this sea on 08:19 - May 1 with 2308 views | JohnTy | The Canaries needed promotion back to the Premiership. They are now in a dire financial situation. Their self funding model is not working. They need a total reset. Comments about us are unsurprisingly kept to a minimum. It is too painful to mention. The most recent article on myfootballwriter included this: "Practice our anti-Ipswich songs for next season cos they’ll have plenty of new and quite possibly HMRC-related chants for us." I work , on and off, with four of their season ticket holders as well as some that randomly drink in my local and , to a man, they are expecting or terrified at the distinct prospect of having their sphincters violated.

I wonder how our inbred canary friends up the road think of our success this sea on 10:44 - May 1 with 1852 views | wkj | I reckon a fair few will be happy about it. There is a big disdain for the upper levels of management at the moment so promotion with probably more of a hope than an expectation how. Having a derby to look forward to (that I suspect they feel they will win) might well be the only tonic for what will be another season of midtable mediocrity (unless something drastic changes over the summer). That was an interesting read, especially as promotion at that point was still a possibility. An update is required. I wonder if norwich will drop their academy down a category. Really annoying they poke about in Suffolk
