I'm not convinced that the excessive injury time will go but those two soft yellow cards for minor kicking the ball away offences I can't see remaining.

On sky Football > specials > competition specials > [select league for today’s date] > match specials Championship one is 40/1 now League one still 100/1 for 30+ points in each

Delaying a free kick by standing on the ball/picking up the ball/kicking the ball away should be an automatic yellow card EVERY time, plus an optional 10 yard penalty. Then, players would change their behaviour & the game would be a better spectacle.

Cheers J2. Ended up configuring manual accas for each of the three divisions. 40+ booking points in each match: Championship - 137/1 L1 - 3,387/1 L2 - 1,438/1

If they do, I hope evening matches switch to 7.30 or even earlier kick-offs. I don't see how anyone can get home on public transport at this rate.

I agree but games moved from 7:30 to 7:45 to allow fans to get to the game after work more easily so I doubt we're going back.

It is normal for the ball to be out of play for some considerable time. It doesnt mean the game has stopped. People are making runs, moving up or down the field. Jostling for position etc etc Nothing wrong with it. Stupid timewasting and play acting is another matter, but people seem to be failing to appreciate the difference now. Refs should deal with the cause not the symptoms. The timewasting disrupts momentum and flow of the game which is more valuable, often, than the actual time lost. Thats where it should ba addressed. Cards, followed by dismissals.
World cup style injury time. on 16:10 - Aug 5 with 1169 views | Sharkey | Lots of +7s, +8s and +9s in the first half of today's games. Presumably the second halves will be longer.

League one has landed! Championship could do with a mass brawl or three...

I never understood this. I mean people didn't finish work earlier 'in the old days', did they? In Town's case, who are you helping by starting at 7.45? People in the town proper who go home and eat and then go out again? People in Lowestoft or Haverhill with a way to travel? Away fans? I can't see that the 15 minutes makes much difference before the game, but can make a difference afterwards, with last buses and last trains to consider. In Sweden evening games kick off at 7. More kids can go on a school night (I know that's not a big deal at Town, with a full stadium anyway), and there's time to go for a beer after the game before heading home. Much more civilised.

i suppose it's like everything, you can't please everyone. Living in Lowestoft and finishing work at 6pm, I would never get to an evening game on time if it kicked off at 7pm. Also, with me working 1 in 3 Saturdays, I happy when games sometimes switch from a Saturday to a Fri/Sun for TV if it falls on a Saturday I'm working, but I know this is a big bugbear for some people. With regards the added time, I'm all for it Also, refs cracking down on any form of sh*thousery. My son plays hockey at a decent level and cards are handed out regularly for not retreating for a free hit or any form of backchat to the umpires. It's just accepted that you will be punished and therefore, discipline is so much better as a result. The powers that be have let it go on for far too long in football and I fear the horse bolted a long time ago with them trying to stamp it out, but I live in hope!!
