Desert Island Filmography 15:48 - Sep 27 with 3742 viewsunbelievablue

You're stuck on a desert island, and as part of your setup, you've a big old projector and the filmography of just one actor or actress. You get every film they've been in, but it's feature films only, no TV series or shorts. Voice credits count. You can't watch anything else.

A fun consideration. I find it extremely difficult to choose between quantity and quality, or the balance therein. Someone like Pacino was my first thought because he's been in some of my favourite films, and I'd be gutted not to have them, but I could stack that up against say, Phil Seymour Hoffman (my favourite actor of all time), and just repeat his 30 or so forever and ever.

Maybe James Hong.

Edit - a friend of mine said Hanks is the obvious choice. I don't really like him.

If it's quality over quantity we're talking about then the answer is, and always will be, John Cazale. Otherwise Leonardo di Caprio would be a good shout, he has an impressive CV, thanks in no small part to being in several Martin Scorsese films (new one out soon too).

Jeff Bridges

Mainly for 'The Big Lebowski' but he has a good variety of serious and action films as well.

I don't really like The Deer Hunter, and Pacino is in Dog Day Afternoon and the Godfathers...

I do like The Conversation but not enough to swingit.

It's Woody Allen for me. As well as writing and directing all his films, he has appeared in the majority too.

Yeh if you're talking number of quality films rather than hit rate then Al definitely takes it over John.

Having said all this, being a massive Bond fan I really should pick Desmond Llewellyn just so I can get as many of those films as possible. No idea what else he was in though!

Christopher Lee, he was in so many movies you'd have a lifetime of watching them all, plus most of them are half decent, and he was a damn fine actor, or at least good curiosities that reflect various eras of Hollywood/Hammer horror. You get Bond, you get Dracula, Sherlock Holmes,Lord of the Rings, Star Wars

This is a great shout.

Just off the top of my head, with Ford you get:-

American Graffiti
The Conversation
Apocalypse Now
Star Wars
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
Blade Runner
Blade Runner 2049
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Temple of Doom
The Last Crusade
Witness
Frantic
Presumed Innocent
The Fugitive
Patriot Games
Clear and Present Danger

What a career!

Two others for consideration:

Eva Green - been in a variety of interesting films including the best bond, often seen in a state of undress for those interested in that side of things

Bill Murray

I haven't thought too hard, but for different genre's alone Bruce Willis is a suggestion

Action: Die Hard etc
Suspense: The Sixth Sense
Sci Fi: Twelve Monkeys, Looper

And of course Pulp Fiction and quite a few other good 'uns.
