Best Chocolate Bars 14:23 - Nov 2 with 10229 views | Churchman | To lighten the mood and thinking of the good ole Christmas Selection Box, I was wondering what peoples’ preferences were? Excluding a bar of Cadburys Milk, for me it has to be a Mars Bar. It is a wonderful creation. Just pop it in the fridge. When chilled take a sharp knife and cut into chunks in the wrapper to retain any chocolate shards. Slice the wrapper length ways and a parcel of joy will be there before you. Unsurpassed. Best Chocolate Bars on 07:33 - Nov 3 with 1541 views | RobTheMonk | I used to always have a Mars bar in my lunchbox when I was at school. Recently, I've taken a liking to Aldi's own double choc (white and milk chocolate). Too much is sickly, but a little is lovely.

The salad drawer is also there for beers. One name not mentioned is Caramac. I could never decide whether I liked or loathed it.

Things like After Eight in ‘bar’ form like the pic didn’t exist when I was a kid. They were in a little box for Christmas and that was it. And eating them was kind of rationed. Somebody gave us a box of them last Christmas. They were ok but not the treat I remembered them to be.

The artist formerly known as Mintola. Loved these as a kid, the more sophisticated big sister of Munchies.

It's not a bar, individual sweets a bit like Munchies. They've been around under different names since the 60s.

Anything that had chocolate and came out of the same cabinet, I’ve allowed. The individual sweet version of After Eights are not After Eights as I know them, i.e the square flat jobs in individual wrappers in a cellophane wrapped box! Mintola etc: not the same as AEs. Fry’s peppermint cream bar? Nope

The ones Buhrer posted are the direct descendants of Mintola, it's their second rebranding after initially becoming known as Mint Munchies for a time.

Descendants?? Rebranding is not the same as DNA lineage😀! The rebranding of mintola or mint munchies into the band name of After Eights doesn’t make them After Eights.

No, it makes them Mintola by a different name, which has been my point all along.

Best Chocolate Bars on 20:13 - Nov 2 by NthQldITFC | Your 20's Mars Bars is your 90's Milky Way in terms of meatiness. It's a sad, sad world. May I include a big ol' bar of Cadburys Old Gold rum and raisin in dark chocolate, along with some Coca Cola and an eighth? Edit: Old Jamaica Rum 'n Raisin, that's what it's called. My memory's shot. Can't help but think that would be better washed down with a Tizer or a chocolate milk

To be honest the ones I used to glut on in the 80s weren't Mintolas or after eights, some other brand...

There were a few about back in the day. I wasn’t that fussed about mint related chocolate tbh.

Wow! 2 up votes! You people are animals. The only thing worse then defiling chocolate with mint is to add alcohol to it
Best Chocolate Bars on 15:11 - Nov 3 with 1216 views | ford6600 | Cadbury's Fuse and of course Time Out worth mentioning Rowntrees's Cabana a rare beast in 80's 90's Curly Wurly, a bigger version then, than now, started out in 1970, but still a classic. Mars still reigns despite its diminutive current 51g size ably assisted by its wingman the lightweight but ever popular Milky Way. Standout contenders for me were Aztec, Topic, Marathon later to be Snickers, Lion Bar, Picnic, anything Mars like with addition of nuts. Crunchie tasty but the honeycomb really tests your fillings...&Munchies..Mmmm

Fuse bars were the best. Why oh why were they discontinued?! McVities Gold Bars are delicious. Doesn't count but dark chocolate Lindt Lindor truffles are the greatest chocolate product.

I'm loathe to praise anything australian, but Tim Tams are the right answer..
