Chaplin drops to the bench no question. Harness has been a level above him every time he’s come on. Unfortunately Chaplin can’t be guaranteed a spot just on last season. It’s all to do with there here and now
Harness no longer on 17:17 - Nov 4 with 3070 views | LankHenners | Don't think so. Broadhead and Chaplin are better players than him overall, by some margin really. What he's shown though is he can be trusted to come on and contribute when needed. He got the goals but the comeback owed as much to the work of the likes of Scarlett and Hutchinson.

Harness no longer on 17:21 - Nov 4 with 3029 views | NthQldITFC | I don't think it's so much first XI and subs these days. It's working well with Harness coming off the bench. Chaplin still starts for me, and they have a similar impact on the match.

Agree, impact subs are crucial, it's not all about who starts in today's game...

We have a lot of games coming up so I wouldn’t be adverse to Broadhead and a Chaplin getting a rest. McKenna rested Chaplin a few times last season and he was very effective coming on from the bench. Accrington being a great example those two goals as a sub kickstarted his rich vein of form.

For me Chaplin can go missing in the more physical games, Harness gives us a bit more pace and bite when teams pack the midfield I suspect McKenna always wants to give Chappers a run because of his goal threat

Me neither and I think McKenna will do that as he's done already on occasion this season. Just think people are (understandably in the moment to be fair) getting a bit ahead of themselves suggesting players who have had an impact off the bench become automatic starters.

I’ve been saying for a few games to my son (season ticker holder with me) that Harness is excellent at the mo and unlucky not to be in the starting 11. MOTM against Fulham by some distance. Always available, always creates, links up really well, very, very good when we don’t have the ball. If I were Chappers, I’d be nervous.

He’s doing very well from the bench too. A good threat to have coming on later in the game - that’s his role for me.

I don't think so. McKenna keeps the squad happy and players know they will get a degree of rotation. It is only about a week ago that posters were claiming Harness and Ladapo aren't good enough for this level and need replacing.

That would be Chaplin who is our 2nd top scorer THIS season? No way is he in the team on the strength of last season.

Players do lose form. And past 3 games Chaplin hasn't been great

It may be a fair comment on the last three matches. To suggest that "this season" Harness has been much better takes a very short memory.

He’s made some great contributions lately though and that shows the value of a tight squad.

5 goals and 2 assists says you are wrong. As usual.. For me the fact you post such rubbish with no conviction is the worst thing. If you were just a bit stupid I could overlook your posting - but you just say whatever you think will get a reaction.

Chaplin is arguably the better player but he’s also running himself ragged in that role, it’d be interesting to see Chaplin come on with full energy towards the end of the game because he could take advantage of a fatigued backline and potentially score.

You didn't but the previous one to suggest him further up the thread did. I make you both wrong. You for being too quick to judge but the other one for being factually wrong. I do find it odd that Herbs and Gav downvoted you but not the first suggestion.

Well there's only two 10s. For me broady still effects games when not scoring. Chappers isn't as useful So of the two ir you have to drop one. Then it'd chaps
