I’ll take another one Tuesday night too. Not sure we looked any sharper than Hull for all that time off but good to have Hirst and Burns back. It’ll be interesting to see how those fatigue levels fair on Tuesday. All the pressure would have been off had it not been for some poor keeping tonight. Oh well. |
| Forum Thread | Is the 2-week break a positive or negative? at 06:29 11 Apr 2024
We’ve looked a bit jaded in large spells recently. Passes look heavy and lethargic, the runs from some look a bit laboured and the sharpness playing out from the back has looked a bit precarious. So, maybe a break is well timed. Having said that, we’ll likely be third and playing catch-up. Positive or negative? |

…than when the North Stand erupts like that with a last gasp winner in a game of that magnitude? Ooosht. ‘ave it! Stunning result. We were lost first half. Classics half time regroup from KM and Pert - complete faith. |
| Forum Thread | The importance of a good number two… at 07:07 24 Mar 2024
In recent history it’s been easy to point the finger at notable gaps with failing managers who haven’t been able to replicate their past glory. Under Lambert, Culverhouse was cited as being the missing link, the brain behind Lambert’s success. Under Cook, many pointed to the absence of Richardson as a clear sign and rationale for us stuttering and misfiring. And what of the others in recent history? Doig, Hutchings, Connor, the bloke who followed Keane around whose name I can’t remember? KM gets all the praise for our success and deserves to bask in the glory but what of Pert? How significant is he behind the scenes? What’s the word from inside the club, does anyone know? Whenever him and KM huddle around the iPad or whenever we’re trailing at half-time, we regroup and turn games around, which gives me confidence he’s a valuable asset and his input is a key part of the success especially given his interesting background in Europe and Latin America. Thoughts? |

| Forum Thread | Which player had the most successful transfer to the prem? at 05:49 29 Feb 2024
With rumours circulating on Davis, my immediate reaction is that hardly any players who have left us to join prem teams have done that well - success being subjective. Who has been the most successful? Mings? Cressswell? Dyer? Lots have never achieved their full potential and plenty probably shouldn’t have been signed but who has done well irrespective of financial gain? |

| Forum Thread | Chesterfield at 19:59 5 Feb 2024
If my math is correct, it’s conceivable that Chesterfield could be promoted by the end of February. Is that the quickest a side has ever been promoted in English football? Can find some references to mid-march but not Feb. |

…if ever there’s a ball that’s not on, it’s that one. Ridiculous pass that we’ll pressed and so tight. One got Kieffer Moore today. Preston doing all the ugly stuff and we’ve been weak all over the pitch. Need it to stick up front if we’re to have any hope |
| Forum Thread | Clarke has been atrocious so far at 18:02 13 Jan 2024
So many unforced errors and his poor positioning and shape lead to the goal. Not interested in how much he offers going forward, needs to do the basics at the back first. |

…playing long balls, a tweak in style. Well done McKenna. I’m taking credit for that though as per a post several weeks back. Expect us to stop doing that shortly and resume normal service. |

…tailor made for our front line isn’t he? Oozes effortless class on the ball and full of drive and purpose. Goals and assists coming up aplenty if he stays fit. [Post edited 6 Jan 16:14]
