Szmodics just signed new deal at Blackburn and hates us (Col U alumni innit); plus, even if there was a deal there, he's scored 16 goals in a poor Blackburn team, he'd be heading to Brentford or one of the other plastic Prem teams like Bournemouth.
Whittaker - pretty much firmly told us to do one last winter, no? I reckon it'd take daft money to get him out of Plymouth, and I think we're gonna be a little more shrewd than that.

Szmodics is surely best part of £5m.
I did post a while ago good players will cost the best part of £5m (especially a striker) and got taken the mick out of.
I can see us getting a loan in quickly, and then maybe someone we really want negotiating the whole of the month....

There were people on here the other month saying we could get a decent striker to rival Hirst for £1.5m.
With the January window premium plus the knowledge we desperately need a striker, I would very much doubt it, if we buy one.

He wouldn’t have been interested. He was set on returning to Plymouth. He seems a real confidence player, and I’m not convinced he’s as good as people think. He’s one of those who like to be a big fish in a small pond. He looked lost down here for Swansea. Didn’t get much of a chance but was poor when he did. |  |

Yes he did and that made it almost impossible for us but it was I thi k our best chance if we could have persuaded him otherwise if indeed we wanted too . What we do know is if we are interested in him it's going to cost a good bit more now but maybe not as much as some think . |  | | |
