I've heard it, but not for what purpose as yet though - think we put a lot of money into a pitch there at one point but ten never ended up using it

Don't think it is intended for the Foundation, i'd heard that they're looking at a completely different site for them.

Speaking of whom, Tom RS is claiming some glory for a bit of sponsorship they’ve secured.

Wanderers chairman is claiming Tom has always been a loyal partner of IWFC.

What a load of rubbish. RS wouldn’t have heard of them until he was parachuted in, and now is only claiming some credit as it makes him look good, same as he does when he jumps on the ITFC bandwagon.

Sooner he’s gone the better…. Yet the Brexit gammons on socials say how great he is. Morons.

I liked the facial expression of a certain someone in the picture with Tom RS…

Didn’t they purchase land on the opposite side of playFord road, to Accommodate the academy and womens team? Thought they spent a load of money on the pitches on that side? And upgraded it All..assuming the land purchase is to build on?

There will be no development on the IW site if the access remains via Humber Doucy Lane. It will just never get approval.

Considering a new access road behind the houses on Playford Road would cut across 3 training pitches it makes it less likely.

Development over the road on 'Bent lane' side is much, much more likely.

I thought that was what was announced back when they talked of purchasing the land Marcus Evans retained.

The blocker to developing the Wanderers site for housing was the sewers. Obviously it is a sports ground now, with floodlights So nothing blocking continued use as is. IW have had the use of the land for free for some time but they have to keep the site tidy and are not allowed to put up permanent buildings. IW have a long term lease on the site, but do not pay rent. They have an agreement with the landowner that should he sell, he will will find them an alternative site. bent lane site would be more tricky, floodlights would have to go up and that triangle of land might not have enough space for a stadium and the required car parking.

ITFC used to look after the pitch and supplied the water. CAT 1 academies require a stadium, the club used to hold academy games on it. When ITFC gave up on the idea of moving to CAT1 they stopped looking after it or supplying the water. ITFC or sympathetic staff did continue to give ITFC 2nd hand gear. Netting, goal posts and so on.
