The Saddest thing about ITFC 11:46 - Jan 8 with 1829 viewsFrimleyBlue

Is how the current situation is splitting town fans.

Weve always been united and together bar a few. But each week more and more infighting happens. This forum. Twitter. Stadium. Fans turning on not just each other but the players more and more each week.

I dont see what benefits there are of keeping Mick. It could be a financial reason for evans. But my concern is the longer this continues the worse the fans relationship becomes.

That's tantamount to saying that the only way to heal the split is to give one side of the argument everything they want!

Think it'll take years to win many of the fans back on-side (as it did after Keane), whatever happens. And success on the pitch is the surest way to do that.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

and how will success on the pitch be achieved ?

new manager perhaps ?
what if the new manager is not given sufficient backing from the owner ?

its a vicious circle that only evans can resolve imo

The telling point for me is the split at away games. Don't think I've been to one away game this season and not seen an angry exhange, normally the aways fans are very unified lot.

Indeed.

What I really don't want to see is a change, optimism, transient success, decline and another failure, followed by even more bitterness, which will only get worse after each cycle.

If we're going to change the manager, it has to be a very wise choice on timing and the new man. In the current Championship climate, he has to be given a reasonable level of support (there's only two or three who could mount a challenge on our budget). Is this going to happen? Not overly confident.

First sign that I can recall was somebody with a banner towards the end at Newcastle being told where to go.but if that is what they said on Radio Suffolk....

Yes several incidents that I saw and one I was involved in. Someone thought I was expecting too much from the team and when i said that we had come here twice previously and had a go at them we should of won twice but that second half peformance was a disgrace and was a sign of things to come.

I will never accept any situation where a decent man like Mick gets sacked by the club

Those who sit beside me are still 100 per cent behind Mick and Evans

I've only been to Reading away

The fans there were too bored to bothered to argue.

The whole itfc situation is very worrying and sad

Keep the faith and less of the negativity and all will be well by the end of the season

The faith in what though?? The manager talks like his days are finished and he couldn't care less. The players are playing like players going through the motions because the squad doesn't have the strength in depth to replace any of them. That should be pointed at the door of ME and MM. We have been abysmal this season and most of last and some of the season before. We peaked very quickly under MM and have been on a downward curve ever since. Everyone talks about making the play offs we shouldn't have even settled for the play offs. Promotion was ours for the taking but too many players almost knew they wouldn't be kept on in the premier league.

So if we slid like a stone to division 1 next year, still not sacked? By your statement, no.

Words fail me.

Mick is a decent man even in league 1 I would still back him

People want success to quickly these days let him have the season and see where he gets the club

One thing Ipswich fans can't be accused of is wanting success too quickly. We've been in the same God forsaken division for 15 seasons. We've seen teams drop down divisions and come back and overtake us time and time again. If anyone deserves a little success in our division it's us but it's not going to happen until we start making the right decisions on and off the pitch

It is because of nappy crappers like you Colchester that the atmosphere is so bad
