Derby supporting father in law 09:26 - Feb 1 with 1319 viewsSmithy

Goes to Portman Road for first time this season and first thing he says to me when we meet up after game was you never wanted to win that game, you were set up for a 0-0, 5 at the back and 2 holding midfielders who never wanted the ball, and your manager didn't change it when it wasn't working, says it all, he sees it after one game.

37 years and counting!

Correct about setting up not to lose. Incorrect about changing it. We did when went four at back but with Digby in middle - and then changed it again when he was subbed for McGoldrick.
But then too late of course. We should at least recall it properly.

I was in the chatroom and when the 3rd goal went in, I went for a bath with MrsNewcy. I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening!

We weren't set up with 5 at the back.... on 09:43 - Feb 1 with 987 viewsBloots

....that was the problem.

The wing backs were pushing too far forward and Derby were just getting in behind them.

By the time MM changed it, it was too late.
