The hard Brexiteers and the press really need to start behaving responsibly.
The public are being stoked into anger about something very few people understand or care about. You’re not telling me all those morons at the Tommy Robinson protest understand the vagaries of customs unions or Irish backstops. They’re angry because they’re being told to be angry.

My Norwegian friends are quite the opposite. Norway doesn't have dual nationality so at the moment they can't get a British passport as they lose the Norwegian one and so do the kids and they don't know if they can stay on a Norwegian one.
Apparently next year Norway will be allowing dual-citizenship but at the moment they are as up in the air as everyone else.

I try not to talk about it. Me and my old man have made a deal not to talk about it anymore. I am a Card-carrying member of the Labour Party and my old man has swallowed Farage hook, line and sinker. He's semi-retired and finishes for the week on Thursday and he has a few cans and a doob in the shed and watches Question Time and I come over because I only live a few doors down and normally I'm well oiled too. It used to be good-natured fun, I was the scouse git and he was Alf Garnett. But this Brexit stuff is a level I don't want to go to, it has turned into proper arguments. He didn't speak to me for a couple of days because I the argument I was making was boiled down to the point where he asked me "so most Leave voters were thick racists who didn't know what they were voting for?" and I told him yes he was. |  |
