I believe it was £2.5M with addons for promotion etc, which followed shorty after as we know.

More the feeling of optimism that went with the transfer rather than the fee, whilst I'm sure we won't spend anything like that on a player now, even if we did it would be one of the first rather than last pieces of the jigsaw.
