It's fine. Sometimes people need a real world example to connect the dots. Faceless NHS staff looking after faceless patients and faceless deaths don't seem to do it for a lot of people.

Whilst bringing real people into it undoubtedly helps to make things real, offering yourself as the example seems to reflect the lack of humility that characterises the facebook generation.

Seems harder to take issue with it than not. They are legitimately risking their lives. If they have seen lots of people out and about it's perfectly ok in my opinion.

To be fair mate we don't know what this person does. I have utmost respect for Badger and my very good friend who is a senior herself in a hospital down South (and every single one of them everywhere) but at no point would she dream of say, putting a sticker on her car telling the world what her job is, looking for accolades.
FB is full of people with "Proud to work for the NHS" and do you know what?
I'm proud of them too.
I don't need them to tell me though.
In this case where a message is being relayed though, you may be right and it might be intended to make people think rather than be intended to let people know how important they are.

Interesting - to me the comment reads more as frustration than wanting acclaim - “why am I putting my life on the line every day just so you can break relatively simple requirements”?

There's no need for the Me Vs You approach I suppose.
Maybe the passive voice rather than the active would make a more positive, less personal, impact.
That's not to distract that the message itself is an important one.
But to consider how many people are already defiant of the regulations in place, it's not helpful to create any unnecessary divide.

Yes, I understand what you mean. Though the Government has tried a relatively passive approach, which for the most part has worked - but not completely.
