Fry: Posh Not Chasing McAuley
Fry: Posh Not Chasing McAuley
Friday, 9th Oct 2009 15:31

Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry has denied this morning’s tabloid claim that his club was targeting Town central defender Gareth McAuley. Posh are looking to add a loan defender to their squad but Fry says McAuley isn’t the man on their wish-list.

The former Barnet and Birmingham boss says that as TWTD predicted earlier today, the Northern Irishman is not being targeted: "He is the not the player we are chasing. His age and his wages would make him unsuitable."

Phil, Don't you have any other pictures of McAuley? This one does make him look like a big eared loon...which he is!

He's not going anywhere, he'll be here through Jan, make the squad and will be a better player for it....

perhaps!

As much as there are mixed comments about McAuley I for one hope to god we get in at least two replacements before we even consider letting him go.

Even Peterborough dont want him!!! As it looks like we're lumbered with him, I believe I have a great idea...... What about McCauley & Priskin swapping positions! McCauley cant defend, but he did score a good goal last week, & has now scored the same number of league goals as Priskin! So, lets give Priskin a go along side Bruce at the back! (I SAY THIS TONGUE IN CHEEK OF COURSE!) (BEFORE ALL THOSE WITHOUT A SENSE OF HUMOUR START WHINGING!)

Jim paid too much for him in transfer fee and it would also seem in wages. IMO not worth the money. Not good enough for what we need, but sadly probably the best we have which is saying something.

We better get two central defenders in first before we even consider letting him go!!
Who would we be left with??? The erratic Bruce or the even more unreliable terrible twins Pim and Tommy Smith?? Crickey, no wonder we concede so many goals!!!

off on abit of a tangent here but a friend of mine was treating nigel worthingtons son at the n&n hospital and the ex budgie manager told him that one of his international players at ipswich was speaking to him about life at pr under keano and it didnt sound good to me seems to treat them pretty much like he did as a player and theyre shit scared of him hence any confidence i had in keano pulling it round has dissappeard if he hasnt got them playing for him 100%

I cannot believe how many of you "informed" supporters are so quick to change you mind..... baaaaaa!!!

At the end of last season, a good number of you were proclaiming that McAuley was the best defender that we had seen for a number of years.

He then had a bad start and Bruce was being hailed as the next Messiah (especially after kissing the sacred badge).

Now, after a run of (unexcusably bad results), neither are fit to play in our reserves. Grow up, get a life and decide exactly what your opinions are.... if you can think for yourself that is!
