Icelandic Striker On Trial Wednesday, 21st Oct 2009 02:51
TWTD understands that Icelandic striker Pape Mamadou Faye is spending the week on trial with Town. The 18-year-old Senegal-born frontman, who is also set for a trial spell with Reading, is currently with Icelandic club Fylkir.
Faye has made 19 appearances in the Icelandic Premier League, netting one goal.
Last month he scored three goals for Iceland’s U19s in two friendlies against Scotland and also netted in a 3-2 European qualifier victory against Bulgaria a week ago.

Let's hope he can find the net with the ball, we need a striker who can do that consistently, good luck Pape.

thats cool BUT we need an experienced front man imo. You need a Dean Windass type of player

An 18 year old with one goal in 19 league games we needsomebody for the present not the future this kid may be ok for the reserves.

Wouldn't put too much store by this one. I hope he's good, that he stays and is one for the future, but he's not the answer to our current problems: 1) The Icelandic League is hardly top class, 2) We have Wickham, who surely must be further along in his development, 3) We need an experienced, proven goal scorer next weekend, who can convert some of these chances I keep hearing about. Make no mistake about it; we are in a relegation battle. COYB

Worth getting in but not for now. I think we have enough here already. It's just that little bit of luck that will make things click into place. From what I have heard that's all that was missing from the Watford game. Keep believing guys.

1 goal in 19 games?! We should have signed a proved goalscorer, or at least not sold Jordan Rhodes (a 19-year-old with a ratio a bit better than 1 in 19!).

We need a quality, proven, ex international stricker who will find championship level easy to score at with a USP no other strikers can give....... enter Jan Koller 6ft 8" tall, superb career scoring record

This is ridiculous, we need someone who can bang in the goals, make something happen from nothing, not another teenager who has great potential, 1 goal in 19 games...... oh well then he should fit in well alongside Priskin!!!!
My_Left_Foot added 11:56 - Oct 21
one goal in 19, just what we need. As for Priskin, maybe if he played, he might score.

Maybe he could be our manager?
TannersCoke added 13:08 - Oct 21
