Bogle equalises against Norwich!

That's one goal already then from the player we didn't think was good enough to buy.
Half-time. Wigan 0 Sheff Wed 1.

This is a big match. Would be a crucial win if Wednesday can hold onto the lead, keeping Wigan 10 points behind us (with a game in hand) and putting Sheffield (who will be 6th) 6 points above Norwich (having played a game more).
03/02/2007 team v 31/01/2017 team

10 years ago today we lined up like this:

2007: Price(22), Wright(26), Harding(23), Wilnis(36), Naylor(29), Legwinski(33), Garvan(19), Peters(19), Roberts(22), Lee(28), Walters(23).

Against Reading this week:

2017: Bialkowski(29), Spence(26), Digby(21), Chambers(31), Berra(32), Knudsen(24), Skuse(30), Bru(28), Lawrence(23), Sears(27), Pitman (29).

If you could choose a team of 11 from both sides with the 2007 players at the ages they would have been ten years ago, what would you go with?

I would go:

GK: Bialkowski
LB: Harding
CB: Berra
CB: Chambers
RB: Wright
LM: Lawrence
CM: Legwinski
CM: Garvan
RM: Walters
S: Lee
S: Pitman

Oh dear, 6-5 to the team 10 years ago.
Marcus Evans, this is WHY the transfer market is 'inflated'
at 20:49 1 Feb 2017

I read that ten years ago Villa finished 6th in the Premier League and got £22M prize money. Now the prize is £97M for finishing BOTTOM...followed by parachute money of £87M over the next three years in the Championship. That vast income is why clubs are pushing the boat out on transfers fees, as crazy as it may seem. It really does make Ipswich's reported £1M bids for proven Championship strikers seem laughable, especially after we took £3M for Murphy in the summer. We're bidding 2007 prices in 2017.
