Cardiff Linked With Garvan Move
Cardiff Linked With Garvan Move
Wednesday, 11th Nov 2009 00:24

Cardiff City want to take out-of-favour midfielder Owen Garvan on loan with a view to signing him on a permanent basis, according to a tabloid newspaper. Garvan hasn’t played for Town since the 2-0 defeat at West Brom in August.

The 21-year-old, who is set to play for the Irish U21s this weekend, recently turned down a loan move to League One Colchester United.

garvan's too good to let go, keane has already made one mistake in gettingrid of rhodes and he is soon going to do another one, keane has ruined our club and has to go before we do a norwich, how can people say theres no one to replace him, there's curbishly, paul jewell, steve coppel which all 3 have got teams into the prem. Notice how theres more and more people who want keane out now.

Would much prefer Garvan was loaned out rather than sold. A couple of seasons ago he seemed to have so much potential and was capable of scoring goals from a distance, which we seem to lack now. If he has lost confidence, for whatever reason, he would be be given a chance to turn things round on loan before the club made final decision. Think most people think that selling Rhodes, no matter what the fee, was a big mistake and although Garvens potential doesnt match that of Rhodes, it would be a great shame to give Garven away lightly.
CGS -enjoyed reading your views much more today without the aggression and with more considered viewpoints. Credit where credits due, it seems you listened to others opoinions.

If Dave Jones wants Garvan on loan.........fine! but this will end in a keane sell off, he's Gordon Brown in disguise, he's selling off all our gold reserves and will leave us bottom of the league and broke, just like the UK!

I think the person who said on here that Clegg looked starstruck infront of keane on his appointment was right. Marcus Evans + Simon Clegg = Feck all knowledge about football. Keane has been as useful as a chocolate teapot thus far, is running out of excuses & has shipped out all our good youngsters. Shame on him Resign I say, resign!!!!!!

Garvan and Quinn are not good enough.

Trotter is not performing that well this season but he is getting a hard time from fans. Remember he is a local lad, young and in an underperforming team which is never easy. I personally think he can still come good. If performances as a team get better i think he will become better too.....keep the faith with him.

Let's compromise here! Both Keane and Garvan should go!!!

It's my guess that Garvan had the foresight months ago to tell Keane to his face what most of us would choose to tell him now.

I agree that Keane is ruining this club. If he was allowed to spend £80m here (as he did at Sunderland) it's likely we'd get promoted, shame that we're showing no signs of such form as we approach the first quarter of that amount.

Garvan is a class player when given time on the ball, he struggles badly against a high energy central midfield, a midfield like Leadbitter and Norris say, you do need a player like him though, particularly against packed defences. Grafters will only get you so far, also he scores a few goals, we need to keep him in the squad though i am not hopeful as the midfield wll be formed in the manager image.
