Harte Bid Turned Down
Harte Bid Turned Down
Wednesday, 25th Nov 2009 11:52

Carlisle have turned down Town’s loan bid for left-back Ian Harte, according to a report in Cumbria. The Blues are said to have made their offer last week with a Town youngster moving in the opposite direction as part of the proposed deal.

Town wanted to sign Harte initially on loan with a view to making the move permanent in January. An unnamed member of the Town squad is reported to have been offered to the Cumbrians as part of the deal, although whether this was seen as a temporary or a permanent move is unclear. That player may have been Pim Balkestein, who subsequently joined Brentford on loan and who said over the weekend that he had other options.

Harte, who agreed a two-year deal at Brunton Park in the summer, has played most of his career at left-back but lately has been employed at centre-half. He is Carlisle’s top scorer this season with seven goals.

Town boss Roy Keane is looking to sign two loan players before Thursday’s deadline, one a striker from a club outside of the Premier League.

Why doesn't keano just phone Arsene up and ask for Carlos Vela for three months? We would be champions by March. Simples.

Would Alan Sunderland count, can we have him back ?

HYPE313

VELA is sick............

Vela or Dos Santos would sort things out. When Dos Santos was here everytime he got the ball you felt confident that he was going to do something with it, different quality all together. Come on Harry take a hundred grand for yourself and let him come back to get us out of the s****

i dont think he is as bad as u all make out, carlisle top scorer from centre half or left back!!!!

he would do a job on loan(temporarily at ipswich) and also possibly score a few goals(set a few up) from set pieces which is more than you can say for any other town player when we get anywhere near the box..... if we actually manage to get that far up the pitch.

u lot just moan about anything and everything- get a grip!!!

I don't give a fat rats clackers anymore what RK or Clegg says. I'm supporting the Town and that's it. If it's league one next year I'll be there in my seats standing and shouting for the lads.

As for those who think Keane is god - well you are deluded.

For those who think he's the devil himslef - you may have to buy a few consoling pints.

And for those who attack my posts because my spelling and grammer is not perfect - tough get a life.

But I do believe in faries I do I do

Sure he is not trying to sign Tony Hart? I doubt that even Tony could paint a pretty picture of Town right now.

I bet David Wright is feeling very good today having been one of our better players over the last couple weeks, and now we are linked with this Carlisle journeyman. Who next Dion Dublin or Steve Claridge?

POSH SWOOP FOR EXODUS
Peterborough manager Mark Cooper has made Exodus Geohaghon his first signing.

...and all RK can think of is Ian Harte.
