Harte Bid Turned Down
Harte Bid Turned Down
Wednesday, 25th Nov 2009 11:52

Carlisle have turned down Town’s loan bid for left-back Ian Harte, according to a report in Cumbria. The Blues are said to have made their offer last week with a Town youngster moving in the opposite direction as part of the proposed deal.

Town wanted to sign Harte initially on loan with a view to making the move permanent in January. An unnamed member of the Town squad is reported to have been offered to the Cumbrians as part of the deal, although whether this was seen as a temporary or a permanent move is unclear. That player may have been Pim Balkestein, who subsequently joined Brentford on loan and who said over the weekend that he had other options.

Harte, who agreed a two-year deal at Brunton Park in the summer, has played most of his career at left-back but lately has been employed at centre-half. He is Carlisle’s top scorer this season with seven goals.

Town boss Roy Keane is looking to sign two loan players before Thursday’s deadline, one a striker from a club outside of the Premier League.

If this is true then my support for Keane is truly waining. We desperately need a striker who can get goals so we go for a veteran fullback! Harte was very good in his prime but, judging by the fact he is now at Carlisle, he is on the downward slope and plays in positions that we don't need strengthening!
Hope its just a rumour, if not i'm seriously worried about the abilities and mindset of our manager

If Ian harte is so good what is he doing playing for Carlisle. We want a quick tricky mid fielder like Dos Santos or Keiran Dyer and a striker who can score goals, otherwise we could pass Norwich and Colchester on their way up at the end opf season.

Overall, Priskin enjoyed a fairly successful 2008/09 campaign. He finished 15th top scorer in the Championship with 14 goals in all competitions, including memorable strikes against Premiership clubs Tottenham Hotspur[9] and Chelsea in the League Cup and FA Cup respectively. Many Watford fans who had doubted his abilities were won over by his improved performances from November onwards under new manager Brendan Rodgers - during this time he scored most of his goals, established himself in the side, and became well-known for his skill, pace, and deadly finishing.

Stead and priskin for the win they need a couple of 90 minuite spells together
