Wickham and Martin Back in Contention
Wickham and Martin Back in Contention

Town will have midfielder Lee Martin and striker Connor Wickham back from injury ahead of Tuesday’s visit to Peterborough.

Manager Roy Keane says the duo, who have been suffering with hamstring injuries, will come into consideration for his squad for the visit to London Road: "Lee is back in training now and we have Connor Wickham available as well.

"It looks like we will have a full squad available for the game and that's means plenty of competition for places.

"We know it will be a difficult game for us on Tuesday. We have lost and drawn with Peterborough this season and they are fighting for their lives, so we are going to have to roll our sleeves us and compete and show a lot of the positives that we saw against QPR."

Keane has confirmed that keeper Richard Wright is due to see a specialist tomorrow regarding his knee ligament injury and has been pencilled in for next Wednesday’s reserves game at home to Wycombe Wanderers.

a bit of pace down the wings? He reminds me of bambi!

Wickham needs to sit on the bus until we are safe from relegation. Peterboro is not the place for him.

Sorry but to me Lee Martin has been the biggest waste of money in the Roy Keane era - yes even worse than Priskin. At least Priskin has some history where he has been a success whereas Martin has none. I just hope that if the official transfer fee for Martin is ever published it is not the ridiculous sum of £1.5M as has been mentioned. I did state on here at the beginning of the season the opinion of Forest fans and they were spot on - the bloke offers nothing so please Roy leave him out tomorrow as this is a game for battling not tip toeing around and falling over.

Maybe Wickham on the bench as I am not sure of Stead's mindsdet at the moment but I have no enthusiasm for Martin's inclusion in the squad never mind the team. He's just too lightweight and I agree with Bluechick - he is like Bambi! Isn't it strange how nobody has come in for him on loan? - well no, he's useless!
Should be some healthy competition for the keeper spot now which is good. Looking forward to 3 more points at the Posh!

Totally agree with the above comments. This is a game where complacency could be our undoing. we need to grind out a result tonight and I feel to put the inexperienced wickham in would be a mistake. We need to field our strongest side and make sure of all 3 points. The lee martin signing, close but no cigar. Yes he was a man u player but that doesn't instantly mean they are good, other wise why would they sell him. You never know he he gets himself down the gym and bulks up he may come good, but in my opinion not worthy of the bench.

Good luck tomorrow night boys 3-1 victory would do nicely

Fergie didnt have any faith in Martin which is why he only played him once 4 years against Barnet and took him off in that !!! It is the money wasted on him and Priskin which is forcing us to get rid of Stead just to get players in on loan

Saying that though, if we do sell Stead to save up the cash to get Chopra next season, it would be worth it!

He's only going out on loan so he may be back next season for our promotion push.

Cool about time martin turned his skill back on and shut up a few non supportive canary wannabes up
and Wickham/Murphy would be worth a look with conner coming off the bench at some point during a rarely seen comfortable lead lol

Biggerblue look at the biggerblue picture. Totally agree with you that we need to stand by our players but its getting to the business end of the season where we don't have the luxury to try people out or give someone ago. We need to be fielding our best 11 at the time of kick off.

From being really confident I actually think the next 3 games will decide our season. win them and we are looking at an outside chance of the play-offs, lose them and relegation is a real possibility.

Ive never been keen on stead. Bye. Hope the new boys and Pabs show their experience now. Not keen on Wickam, needs a stick of dynamite lodged somewhere.

Wouldnt mind seeing Lee Martin given a go up front - I think he offers more there.
