Priskin Wins Cap as Hungary Thrashed
Priskin Wins Cap as Hungary Thrashed
Saturday, 5th Jun 2010 18:24

Striker Tamás Priskin started and played the full 90 minutes as Hungary lost 6-1 to Holland in a friendly in Amsterdam on Saturday afternoon. The 23-year-old was winning his 26th cap.

Town target Marton Fulop was in goal for the Hungarians, while Arjen Robben limped off with a hamstring injury late on having scored twice and is a doubt for the World Cup finals.

Holland’s other goals were scored by Robin van Persie, Wesley Sneijder, Mark van Bommel and Eljero Elia, Hungary having taken the lead through Balazs Dzudzsak.

So let me get this right, Priskin is our player who hasn't scored at international for the umptenth game, & Fulop is a goalkeeping target for us who lets in 6 goals!!!......... Heaven help us!! .........CHOPRA, CHOPRA, CHOPRA!!! (HOPEFULLY, HOPEFULLY, HOPEFULLY!)

I must admit at the moment priskin is not filling us with confidence, however he's a young lad so there's time.

I guess it also needs to be taken into acount that him and fullop were playing one of the best teams in the world. Not many of the current Dutch team would be playing in a nations second tier of football either!!

mickeyjb, your right, I would love Priskin to start lashing the goals in next season, at the end of the day we should all be giving our support to any player wearing "Blue & White" My previous post was really only tongue in cheek!!

I still think Priskin will come good!! I don't see how he can take the blame for a 6-1 defeat to the dutch - or how Fullop is a poor keeper because of it? Reality please ... Hungary are not a brilliant side - the dutch are pretty good. This is what happens.

I'm not particularly pro or anti Keane but one thing that we should all have in common is our love for ITFC. People respond best to enthusiastic encouragement rather than constant criticism (i.e. when in action on the pitch). We fans have a huge part to play in helping our players, whoever they are, by giving our full support when playing.
With that in mind, our songs have become somewhat stale and we seem to have same songs for different players. I'd like to see a return to the days when each player has their own individual chant(s) to help us give them an extra yard of pace or lift their heads at the crucial time. Easily recognisable, whitty or catchy and simple to follow works like the....... 6 foot 2, eyes are blue, Allan Hunters after you..... who also had...... Big Al, Big Al, Big Al.
To the present, we clearly haven't seen the best of Priskin who is still young and if he's still with us 2010/11 this could lift the lad's confidence by showing him we want him to do well for us;

To Frisky by Tinie Tempah,

ooh la la la la
la la la la la
ooh la la la la
la la la Priskin

Whadoyathink? Any others we can get going?

Some comments worth reading for a change. Those of us with eyes can see Priskin has ability and hope he will come good for us. Fulop would be a fantastic signing for us, I watched him on the box in goal for man city twice and on that basis he looks streets ahead of anyone we've had between the sticks during Keane's reign to date.

I'm also in the desperate for us to sign Chopra camp. If we've got the money, I'd be happy for us to pay £5m for him. We've poured more cash than that down the drain on a series of nearly men who haven't been the answer, it's time to actually lay down the cash needed to buy a promotion striker. I'd also be happy with Ebanks-Blake, or maybe even Earnshaw (but I doubt Forest would sell and the scummer factor would also have to be taken into consideration).

The likes of Murphy and Healy are not the answer.
