Jackett Reiterates Lisbie Interest
Jackett Reiterates Lisbie Interest
Thursday, 1st Jul 2010 12:47

Millwall boss Kenny Jackett has reiterated his interest in Town striker Kevin Lisbie, however, the Lions manager says no move is imminent. The 31-year-old frontman, who spent all of last season on loan at Colchester, is one of the eight players Town have made available for transfer.

Jackett says Lisbie, who will probably be allowed to leave the Blues on a free transfer, could come into his thoughts with a loan move for Arsenal youngster Jay Simpson also possible: “We will see on Kevin Lisbie. It isn’t something right now I’m going for but he may interest me in the future.

“There is a possibility with Jay Simpson. I don’t think there is anything imminent with either him or Kevin Lisbie but they are both players we have discussed.

“There would be a long way to go before we sign any of those players and I would want to make it clear neither of them will imminently be coming in to Millwall Football Club.”

Jackett, who signed Town midfielder Liam Trotter earlier in the summer, says he will assess his squad in pre-season training before making any decisions.

If what the press are saying is right about we need to make funds to spend, then we need something for Lisbie, even if its just £250k.

nooooooo don't sell Lisbie, he's our 50 goal a season man. Sell Wickham and O'Conner instead

Wasn't it Lisbie whose phone was Red Hot with offers?. Would think he'll be gone soon.

Rightwinger - I wouldn't go that far as saying I agree with Keano. Everyone who has eyes must realise that Lisbie is crap. It's amazing that other clubs even have an interest in him and his mouth.

When the ITFC fans are split into two over the manager, a depressing season has finished, no sign of new signings and our nation has flopped at the world cup....

It's good to see there is a news story where we can all agree with each other and post comments which offend nobody on this site (unless Lisbie has an account:P )
This is the way the fans can unite together! Cheerio Lisbie!

Don't know about you guys but I might be a little nicer to Millwall when they come to PR if they take this use little pri*k off our hands.

So pretty much, if every other stiker turns Milwall down they might come back in take Lisbie off our hands-great! It is looking very unlikely that we will get any money in for lazy Lisbie but at least we can try and get his wages off the books-any body care to hazzard a guess at how much we are paying him a week?

bedsitfc added 14:17 - Jul 1
at least £10,000 a week up to £12,000

I would say 31.50 an hour plus travelling time.....

I would have said between £5k-£10k, so working it out at £10k a week over the space of a season, this will save us at least £480,000 which would easily be put to better use-not hard I know!

Agreeing with you all to the point that Lisbie is more than Cack, but all credit to him it was his dive in the box that lead to Gio's Penalty against the Scum when we last played them - he maybe toilet, but his dive will always be treasured!

"I wouldn't go that far as saying I agree with Keano".

What a strange statement Elvis!! If you and RK are saying the same thing about Lisbie - ie that he's not good enough and needs to leave the club, then means that you agree him!!

Shhhhh! Will you lot keep it down - we don't want Kenny Jackett getting wind of any reasons not to follow this one through! ;-)

Get your Jackett, Kevin. You've pulled.

Vic - I say Lisbie is crap. Until I hear Keane say the word "crap" while referring to Lisbie, then we don't agree. Keane just put him on the transfer list.

Nice try though mate !!!!

Finally a smart move by keano! :)

If Millwall take Lisbie on loan, Ipswich will still pay most of the wages I would have thought. Even so, it will be nice just to see him away from Portman Road on whatever basis.
