Murphy Looking Forward to PSV
Murphy Looking Forward to PSV
Wednesday, 14th Jul 2010 16:41

New Town number one shirt Brian Murphy says he’s looking forward to Saturday’s friendly against PSV at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven (KO 7pm). Murphy is expecting a somewhat bigger test than the first two pre-season games against Newmarket and Histon, which the Blues won 9-1 and 6-0.

The former Bohemians man told the club site: "It's still early in pre-season and for me it's about getting my bearings, getting my positions right from set-pieces and that sort of thing.

"The sharpness and fitness is obviously important as well, but I also want to win every game and play in every game and it will be no different on Saturday.

"It will be a different kettle of fish for us to the two games we have played so far, but we're all looking forward to it. It will be a big test for us but if we go out and play like we have been during training, then we will be OK."

The Blues are also in action more locally on Saturday with a reserves side taking on Great Yarmouth Town at the Bloaters’ Wellesley Ground (KO 3pm). Further details on Town's pre-season games can be found here.

Murphy is expecting a somewhat bigger test than the first two pre-season games against Newmarket and Histon????? At least against PSV he will get to do something other than lean against his posts waiting for something to do. Get used to picking that ball out of the net Brian - you will be doing it all season long.

IpswichElvis- you make comments about how your a fan and you basically dont agree with Keane etc. But comments like the one you made above clearly highlights the type of person you are.

If you hate the current town situation why are you religiously on here making such pathetic comments? Do you have a life?

Elvis it actually comes across like you want us to lose. I realise that you are not happy by the constant negatitivity you post but it does undermine any purposeful comments you may have had

Watch and learn lads..........supporting Town does not mean I need to lose my grip on reality such as some of you clearly have. Face it, Ipswich are at best a mid table side as long as we have our mentally unbalanced dimwit of a manager. No signings, no motivation - nothing. And we are not going to have an easy season ahead. But of course I have different views than you lot so that means I have to receive some abuse. Thank you very much. uh huh huh

Hey IpswichElvis!.......... if RK continue to run(ruin) the club, can't agree more with you though!..... same situation like last season, releasing/selling average players and bring in below-average players..... or wait for Sunderland's clearout sale.... not sure if RK has any clout left (if any in the first place)....

Ah at last a sensible fan speaks. Nice to know there are others who are intelligent enough to know that we have gone backwards under Keane. The rest of you who can't see and/or accept that Keano is pants, take your blinkers off and smell the coffee. Thank you very much. uh huh huh

As far as incoming signings go, Keane is clueless. Sunderland and Man Utd don't have any rejects left and all Keane's old mates are past it or have retired. The result?? NO SIGNINGS

My problem with people like Elvis on here (and there are quite a few), is the kind of "blanket-negativity" they manage to apply to every story that's reported on here. It gets very tiresome! Yes, there are obvious issues: last season can speak for itself, lack of signings, etc etc. However, when you manage to find something to moan about with EVERY SINGLE STORY, it does just make you sound like someone very bitter and twisted, who would probably be better off by going to support another team. Even if you have a valid point over certain things, that just gets lost in the fact that you come across as a complete moron with most of the other crap you come out with. Maybe a quick reminder to yourself of the definition of "supporter" may reinforce what I'm trying to say.

@retroblue - yawn !!! However, I do not support the Budgie bast@#$ds. Oh but retroblue's reasoning is as follows - if Elvis doesn't worship Keane, Elvis doesn't think we will get promoted next season and and he is not happy at the lack of transfer activity - guess what? He must be a budgie !!!!

Bloody hell - it's simple lads. I am free to post my comments on these news stories on this forum. If you don't like what I am saying then feel free to IGNORE me. It's easy. See my avatar, if you see it scroll down and move to the next posting. Uh huh huh, thankyou very much.

Ipswich Elvis you were a fat b**tard and now you're a skinny one, is the one in red an old photo?? Either way, I don't like Keane, but your arguments are flawed. In fairness to Keane (if you read the content of this site) he has obviously been told, no players out = no players in, not exactly his fault and he was not permitted to negotiate directly with Chopra et al. That's the clubs fault not Keanes!!!!

Oh and by the way the Elvis in red looks more like Mavis!!!!

lack of transfers into the club is due to increasing wage bill and nobody taking our dross off our hands. The owner love him or hate him has taken over our club with every intension of getting us promoted. we have been stuck in a rut for years never quite making it up with our pretty football, so he brings in RK to give us more of a back bone and to change the image of ITFC from a place all opposition love to come and play to a place opposition will fear coming. sometimes in life you have to go backwards before you can go forwards.

devontractorboy - I have seen that excuse more and more from the easily led pro-Keane muppets on here. But, let's say for a minute that is correct - who is going to buy our deadwood? We are not exactly the subject of muliple bids from championship clubs are we? How does that theory apply to loan signings? Surely we are not as pi$$ poor that we cannot get some decent loans in???

As for my physical appearance, I am wearing a tighter jumpsuit and left my cape off that day !!! Uh huh huh, thankyou very much.

Strange how Keane has done such a great job with us that other clubs have not approached Town asking for permission to speak to our lovable wacky messiah. I thought Fulham/Liverpool/Celtic or Raith Rovers would have snapped him up by now !!!!!!
