Murphy Looking Forward to PSV
Murphy Looking Forward to PSV
Wednesday, 14th Jul 2010 16:41

New Town number one shirt Brian Murphy says he’s looking forward to Saturday’s friendly against PSV at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven (KO 7pm). Murphy is expecting a somewhat bigger test than the first two pre-season games against Newmarket and Histon, which the Blues won 9-1 and 6-0.

The former Bohemians man told the club site: "It's still early in pre-season and for me it's about getting my bearings, getting my positions right from set-pieces and that sort of thing.

"The sharpness and fitness is obviously important as well, but I also want to win every game and play in every game and it will be no different on Saturday.

"It will be a different kettle of fish for us to the two games we have played so far, but we're all looking forward to it. It will be a big test for us but if we go out and play like we have been during training, then we will be OK."

The Blues are also in action more locally on Saturday with a reserves side taking on Great Yarmouth Town at the Bloaters’ Wellesley Ground (KO 3pm). Further details on Town's pre-season games can be found here.

Okay, Elvis is leaving the building. You Keane fans can now have a big love in uninterrupted. But you have been great fans, you really have.

So Simeone Jackson is off to the Budgies....it really is a sad state of affairs that a player who is worth a gamble and has potential ends up there at a club that was in League 1 last season over a club that has a multi million pound owner. If someone said would you rather your boss be Roy Keane or Paul Lambert what would you rather I suppose though?

RetroBlue added 18:44 - Jul 14
it is notable that jackson has been touted as a possible signing for other clubs for some while Town being among them....but no club has actually ever stumped up the money and taken that obviously preceived gamble , maybe that in itself tells it's own story about the players capabilities at the higher level !

TO ALL TOWN FANS: Whether you are in favour of Keane or Not, please can I suggest.

WE BACK KEANE & THE TEAM

If ME wants him to get rid of players before we sign any new one's then Keane has to get on with it which he is clearly doing.

If ME wants to change the Manager then that is down to him, but I think he is still behind Keane because he would have done it by now.

So once again, whilst Keane is our Manager, lets support him & the team!!!!

Stead14 sums everything up for me. I believe that everybody should support the team. Booing our own players is nearly always counter productive and yes, most of our players are crap but why destroy their confidence even futher by booing??

As far as Keane goes, Stead14 is one of these Keano lovers who lives in cloud cuckoo land. What has Keane done for me to support him? No, I won't boo him (yet) but I certainly won't be cheering his name like some of the other blind starstuck Keane lovers on here. I can't stand these people and their Keano keano rants. These dimwits need to get back to the loony bin and have another lobotomy.

Lets give every one a chance and see how the new season pans out , we were not that bad results wise at the end of the season .

Fat boy why would we worry if Howard was the REF

Let's hope Ipswich put on a good display at PSV and get a result. The downside however it that this will help the ownership and management of the club to believe that the current squad is good enough to face the 2010/11 season as it is. Perhaps a reality check is needed?!

I totally agree about supporting the club at games, and I would never boo a player, the manager or the team. However, on a forum such as this we should not be in denial of the fact that the signs are not looking good for ITFC at the moment. Evans to his credit put in millions of pounds last season to fund new signings, and he has seen nearly all of that money wasted. "Where do we go from here?" is the question.

As for Simeon Jackson, I'm not saying Ipswich should have bought him, but it does worry me that Norwich are signing young players with potential when we are not.

Ipswich Elvis: Thanks for yet another C..p load of lines! Your sentence earlier stating Murphy should get used to picking the ball out the net? Do you really want Town losing game after game until Keane is gone?

Whilst you don't Like Keane supporters, I'm afraid I am and will back him as much as I have backed previous manager's & future managers.

PS. Just taken off for Cloud Cuckoo Land to meet my dimwit mates!!!!!!

Good to see the whining has started early this season - or is it still going on from last?

Good way to see a story about pre-season fitness turn into a pro/anti keane argument - go team. I wouldn't blame anybody for not signing for us, with all this negativity about.

We are where we are - we have 3 weeks before the season starts and all you can do is bitch about every story - even the ones where a man down the chipshop said we were going to sign Iniesta - kel ser prise he doesn't sign "bloody keane, probably couldn't sell the club to him" "He took one look at Keane and decided he couldn't motivate him"

You fellas should set your own site up - Keanmite.co.uk - Love or hate him we can argue all day about him!

I Can't totally agree with everything Ipswich Elvis says but a lot I'm afraid to say are facts...........When you pay as much as most of us do to watch the team you have every right to moan and Boo and heaven forbid voice your opinion against the almighty Keano, If I was as bad at my job I would be sacked and without the big fat pay off...........Also we are only going to get new players in when old ones on big contracts go, lets not forget the biggest flops and highest paid of which were signed by Keano aswell.............anyone raise me Lee Martin, Tamas Priskin?

Doctor_Albran added 23:03 - Jul 14
Is that the same Mr Burley who had a scottish international refuse to play for him again? Takes alot to stop a fella playing for his country...

Don't get me wrong, I think George is a good manager and was a good servant to the club, but that's in the past and if I remember correctly he had a 5 year plan? you'll never see one of those again... Unless you're talking about Luton!

IpswichElvis hasn't left the building - he is the building!

PSG Blue - only three weeks to go, but a lot of clubs are only just getting players back in - (Wickham and Smith haven't been back long) always a short pre-season in a tournament year - xavi won't be ready to leave Barca for a few weeks yet! LMAO :-)

FACTYMAN strikes again... will they be able to handle the truth? no they will abuse you and call you a canary etc.many have tried over the last 13 months or so to tell it like it is but they close there ears and eyes and hurl abuse at the messenger..they reckon theres "none so blind as them that cannot see" in this clubs case i think its much more serious than that the keane followers are some of the nastiest foulmouthed make it pesonal people we have supporting town ..i wonder if they really are town fans or just idiots who follow keane from club too club hurling abuse and nasties at anyone who mentions the fact that roy does not appear to have a clue about good management...elvis' blueherts and the rest of you realists you are true martyrs to the noble cause of telling it like it is
