A Hull City source has confirmed that Town have approached the Tigers regarding a loan move for midfielder Jimmy Bullard, according to reports in East Yorkshire.

The Hull Daily Mail reports that the source has confirmed the approach but says talks are yet to take place regarding the proposed switch.

News that Blues boss Paul Jewell was making a move for the 32-year-old, who played for him at Wigan, broke earlier this afternoon.

@whippet
"Jimmy Bullard is a legend, everyone in the game knows who he is and knows what they will get by signing him.
Why be negative about our first signing?"

Thanks for the heads-up Whippet, I decided to do my own research since my knowledge of Jimmy's last 2 years is a bit sketchy, and I'd hate being called negative:

from wikipedia: "receiving jeers from the Hull support, who viewed his high transfer fee and wages and the poor return on them as partly responsible for the club's financial problems. Bullard was substituted at half time, with Hull needing to win to avoid relegation.[26]
On 27 June 2010, Hull City's chairman confirmed that Bullard was available for loan and was free to speak to Celtic if he so wished.[27] However, Hull City officials said on 12 July that Celtic and the player had been unable to reach agreement on his wage demands.[28] The club opted to exclude Bullard from pre-season friendlies to reduce the risk of injury preventing the player's sale.[29] At the start of 2010—11, Bullard wasn't given a squad number."

Yes, I remember Bullard the legend, and Pele and Maradonna, but I don't want them in my team if they're expensive and haven't done much in the last 18 months.

You said: "ClassyIpswichLady= far too negative, support our manager and club"

The way I support my team is by singing loudly at matches (when I can be there), giving new recruits a fair crack but realistic enough not to jump on a Paul-Jewel-love-fest-bandwagon, based on 45 minutes of positive football.

I want Jewel to succeed as much as I wanted Keane to. If Jimmy Bullard comes here, then I want him to be happy and enjoy his football again and do well with us.

If support is being a sheep, then sorry I'm probably baaaaaa'ed

Keano is a legend to millions, but he didn't do much that I'd call legendary at Portman Road.

Legends don't always bring success.

I'd rather we create our own legends like we've always done, not borry other people's.
