Monday, 24th Jan 2011 17:52

A Hull City source has confirmed that Town have approached the Tigers regarding a loan move for midfielder Jimmy Bullard, according to reports in East Yorkshire.

The Hull Daily Mail reports that the source has confirmed the approach but says talks are yet to take place regarding the proposed switch.

News that Blues boss Paul Jewell was making a move for the 32-year-old, who played for him at Wigan, broke earlier this afternoon.

The thought of such a character joining excites me.

Hope its true, and as a loan, can't see where we can lose.

A talented and exciting player who might even get some of the crowd who have forgotten how to sing open their mouths at PR.....assuming he does sign.

As long as he's fit(if he is then why on earth isn't he in the Hull side?)then he''ll be good for us...good character to have around the place too I'm sure...Jewell said he wanted the players to enjoy their football again, well, Bullard will certainly help in that respect..

I trust Jewell - if he thinks he's the man for us, then go get him

A very good player ... until THAT injury. Now plays fewer games than Kieron Dyer, and only slightly more than Civelli. Avoid.

Im happy with this as long as it's not a case of shifting Norris out to fund it. We need to add to what we have.

I think i agree, if hes fit and wont cost too much in wages then good stuff. I also have to agree with someone elses comment about Healy. I thought he was rubbish once, but after the last 2 or 3 games under Jewell, he looks worth his place. I suppose if Norris does go, then we will want options should we have any midfield injuries.

I was in Hull this year for Forest v Hull on a stag doo (was in the Hawaiin shirts on sky). The taxi driver on the way there told us Bullard hangs in one of the bars, always off his face... on the old Rio Ferdinand stuff

Isn't he on £50k a week at Hull? I'd be surprised if he gave up the last 2 years of that contract, but if he comes to a settlement with Hull, he may want to rebuild his career under his old chum PJ? Like Chimbonda, I think this is a non-starter though...

good replacement if Norris goes as long as he can stay fit. If not it could be trouble. however he is a touch of class and always seems to smile so I hope he would bring that spark back in. also if Norris is off anyway we get 250,00 for him if Norris stays til the end and goes anyway we lose £250, so take the money and bring in Jimmy. Nice to have him on the bench for Wednesday

Not a hope in hell. Too expensive, too many offers, better clubs to choose from. With less than a week I don't think we'll get anyone in. Especially with Old Stowic Clegg dragging his feet.

the 250k we would get for Norris would only pay for Bullards wages for a month on loan. Ridiculous.

So much good comment! What fine people these supporters are with their thoughtfullness. I find it SO valuable here in the South of France to hear people who have been on the spot, to get a REAL feel of what is happening. Ted Phillips /Tom Garneys was SO good. Jimmy Leadbetter, then the dutchmen moved us into different distribution channels .And so many great players took up the theme. We are so used to such a high level of play, but, as I say, I was there at the Dell when we lost 7-1 under Sir Alf and we need to understand that that is part of the development of a great team!

Cant see this happening if he is on £50k a week.

Norris and McAuley are not on anywhere near that much and the club is not pepared to pay what they are asking. We could offer them £20k a week nd still have money left over

4 central natural centre midfielders. I'd say this as well as especially seeing as it's a loan. With Bullard's injury record selling our skipper to be replaced by someone older, with an injury record on loan doesn't sound correct to me. If it is...

Oh dear.

I suppose this is down to the player - sure that Hull would get rid, possibly on a free, because for them, he has been an expensive waste of money. They will want to get him off the wage bill. Sure, he's decent player - and perhaps any fee - £500k - £1m? Could be part of the deal, ie, the player gets the £1m - that way Hull get rid, the player gets cash - as a golden hello, but by the way, your wages ahve been cut by a fifth! How much do we want Bullard? HOw much does Bullard want to make a frsh start with a manger with whom he had success and happy memories? These guys aren't skint and not even Celtic will pay these wages...

Give him a 3 yr deal, possibly his last pay day? And lets get him playing.

He is the only player we have been properly linked with - and its only sepculation at the moment! And a loan at that... I can see us paying £10 per week and asking Hull for the rest... some of these players and their agents need to get real. Take the hit and get earning your money!

Great player, great free kick taker but injury prone and on massive wages that are crippling Hull . they have been trying to offload him for ages and he wont budge. Would love to see him here, miles better than what we have in all respects. But his fitness is a big concern.
