Apart from visits to PR, I've never explored Suffolk. Thinking of taking wife and 2 teenage lads next week for 3 days, probably to go for a look at Southwold, Aldeburgh and anywhere else nice on the coast. Had a quick look and of course all the coastal places are booked up. Anyone got any suggestions as to a decent base within 20 miles of Southwold and a good place to stay/eat? Lavenham perhaps? And anywhere we should really try and see?
Most of us know we're unlikely to go up. We're not good enough and we're not playing well enough. It would be a shock if we won the play-offs and we all know it.
But what this season has shown is that when all are fit, we now have a trio of strikers who can get us up IF they get a MUCH more creative midfield behind them and a SLIGHTLY better defence. 2 quality midfielders, a defender and a goalkeeper needed.
Oh, and a manager who really, in his heart, wants to play attractive football and is tactically sound i.e. not Mick.
Brentford and Bournemouth have shown it can be done, there are players to bring in who don't cost a fortune, and there are some decent players available on loan - our loan signings were by and large pretty poor. And please, no more frees like Tabb or Anderson or Hunt.
Personally I think Chambers bottled the challenge on Johnson for the first goal - you can clearly see he hesitates instead of going full pelt out and throwing himself in front of that shot. Sorry to say Johnson wanted it more.
But what lost us the match is the midfield, yet again. Why is MM so blind to what has been apparent all season? Stop signing second rate strikers (Hunt and Varney) and sort the mid out, Mick, while we're still in with a chance.
Totally dependant on Murphs goals with no plan B, many on here did pose the question months ago "where would we be without Murph?"....I think we now know. Rest of the team just not creative enough, Mick needs to get lucky again and find a new spark from somewhere
